ORDINANCE NO, 6 8.i
AN ORDINANCE approving and confirming the assessments and
assessment roll of Local Improvement District No, 64, created
under Ordinance No. 616, approved September 23rd, 1919, providing
for the improvement of the following named streets in the City of
Port Angeles, to -wit;
Cherry, Oak and Laurel Streets, from the South Side of
Eighth Street to the North line of Broadway, end Ninth, Tenth,
Eleventh, Twelfth, Thirteenth, Fourteenth and Fifteenth Streets,
and the Alleys running between all of said streets, from the West
line of Lincoln Street on the East, and the East top or brink of
Valley Street Gulch on the West, and from the North line of
Broadway on the South, to the South line of Eighth Street on the
North, and the improvement of the North 25 feet of Broadway, from
the center of Laurel Street to the intersection of Broadway, and
the Alley between Fourteenth and Fifteenth Streets, by excavating
a channel for_outlet of water, all in accordance with Resolution,
• No. 64, and plans and specifications adopted by the then City
Council of the City of Port Angeles; ordering the levy and
collection of such assessments, and creating and establishing a
special fund for said District No, 64,
THE CITY COMMISSION of the City of Port Angeles, Do Ordain
as follows;
Section 1. That the assessments and the assessment roll,
of Local Improvement District No, 64, created by Ordinance No,
616, approved September 23rd, 1919„ which ordered and provided
for the improvement of the following named streets in the City
of Port Angeles, to-wit: Cherry, Oak and Laurel Streets, from
the South line of Eighth Street to the North line of Broadway,
and Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh, Twelfth, Thirteenth, Fourteenth and
Fifteenth Streets, and the Alleys in the City of Port Angeles,
Waphington, to -wit: the Alley between Eighth and ninth Streets,
the alley between Ninth and Tenth Streets, the alley between
Tenth and Eleventh Streets, the alley between Eleventh and
Twelfth Streets, the alley between Twelfth and Thirteenth'Streets,
the alley between Thirteenth and Fourteenth Streets, and the alley
between Fourteenth and Fifteenth Streets, said Ninth, Tenth,
Eleventh, Twelfth, Thirteenth and Fourteenth Streets, and all
of said alleys from the West line of Lincoln Street to the East
top or brink of Valley Street Gulch their full width by clearing,
grubbing, grading, excavating and making necessary embankments,
the gravelling of all of aaid alleys twelve feet in width: the
construction of all necessary embankments, bulkheads, curbings,
croseings and drains, and doing all work in connection therewith
necessary, all in accordance with maps, plans and specifications
prepared, and grades established by the City Engineer, and accord-
ing to Resolution No, 64; and the. improvement of the North 26
feet-. of Broadway

in the middle of each said street, and by applying a bitumen or
asphaltic oil as a binder to said width of eighteen feet, as said
assessment roll now stands after being revised, changed -and -.
raised, and which was regularly heard and fully considered
by the City Cemuiaeien sitting as a Board of Equalization thereon
on the 9th day of March, 1921, according to regular notice thereo ;,
and according to law and the ordinances of said city, and in
accordance with the findings and order of said Board of Equal-
ization at said meeting in said City, be and the same are hereby
in all respects approved and confirmed in all things,
Section 2, That each lot, tract or parcel of land shown
upon said assessment roll is hereby declared to be especially
benefitted by said improvement in at least the amount charged
from the center of Laurel Street to the inter -

against the same, and that the assessment appearing against the
same is in proportion to the several assessments appearing on said
assessment roll, and there is hereby levied and assessed against
each said lot,, tract or parcel of land appearing on said roll,
the amount actually charged and assessed against the same,
Section 3, That there is hereby created and established
for said Local Improvement District No, 64, a special fund to be
known and designated as Local Improvement District go, 64, for the
uses and purposes provided by law and ordinances of the City,
Section 4, Said assessments or any of them may be paid
without interest at any time within thirty (30) days from the date
of the first publication of the City Treasurer +e notice to pay
the same as required by law to be given, and all assessments not
paid within said thirty (30) day period shall thereafter be paid
in ten equal annual installments with interest thereon at the rate
of seven (7) per cent per annum,
Section 6, That immediately upon the taking effect of this
ordinance said assessment roll shall be turned over to the City
Treasurer for the collection of said first annual installment,
whe will thereupon proceed to collect the same according to law,
Section 6, This ordinance shall be in Pull force and
effect when it shall have been passed by the City Commission,
approved by the EIayor, attested by the City Clerk, approved by
the City Attorney, and from and after five (6)mdaya from its
publication once in the official newspaper of the City of Port
Angeles, and the Clerk is hereby directed to cause the same to
be so published,
