ORDINANCE /70. 7
AN ORDINANCE declaring the existence of an emergency by
reason of the fact that the proper maintenance of the streets and the
interests of public health and safety and the healtlpf the resi-
dents of the City of Port Angeles repuire a suitable street flusher
for the purpose of flushing and sprinkling of certain streets of
said city; for the further reason that there is not sufficient
money available in the current expense fund of the said city to
meet the full amount of the necessary and requisite expenditure
of the purchase of such street flusher; stating the facts consti-
tuting such emergency and the amount of money necessary and re-
quired to meet the said emergency and authorizing the expenditure
of money therefor and the issuance of emergency warrants against
the Current Expense Fund of the City of Port Angeles and declaring
an emergency.
THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DOES GRDAI'.,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the following facts constituting an emergen-
cy be and are hereby stated to be as follows: That in order to
properly maintain the streets in the City of Port Angeles, keep
the same sanitary and protect the health and safety of the residents
of the City of Port Angeles and the persons using said streets and
thoroughfares, it is necessary that a suitable and efficient street
flusher be purchased for use by the said City in cleaning and
flushing of the streets and thoroughfares and the sprinkling, of
the same. That the estimated. mount -of-money necessary to procure
said flusher over and above the amount available for said pur-
pose in the proper funds is the sum of $975.00.
Section 2. That an emergency is hereby declared to exist by
reason of the facts ststed herein.
Section 3. That the Mayor and the City Clerk of the Cipy of
Port Angeles be and the said officers are hereby authorized tnd

directed to sign, execute, issue and deliver emergency warrants
upon and payable out of the Current Expense Fund for such expen-
diture and to complete the payment for said street flusher, such
emergency warrants not to exceed the sum of $975.00 and to be
used in meeting_the emergency herein set forth.
Section 4. That the emergency herein stated exists by reason
of the facts above set forth and the immediate passage and adoption
of the said ordinances is urgentand necessary for the immediate pre-
servation of the public peace, health and safety of the City and
of the inhabitants thereof, that such emergency and urgency is
hereby declared to exist.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after hnd immediately upon its passage.

Passed third reading and finally passed and adapted—b7 the City
Commission April 29, 1931.
