AN ORDINANCE creating a Board of Trustees for Volunteer Fire-
men's Relief and Compensation Fund for the City of Port Angeles,
and providing for its operation.
THE CITY COW ;MISSION OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLO'.VS :
illSTION 1. The Fire Department of the City of Port Angeles is
a regularly organized Volunteer Fire Department not employing its
entire membership on a full -time, full -pay basis within the mean-
ing of_Chapter_31:,_Laws of 1935_and is subject to the bssessments
and benefits of the Volunteer Firemen's Relief and Compensation
Fund created by law.
SECTION 2. There is hereby created a Board of Trustees of the
Volunteer Firemen's Relief and Compensation Fund for the organized
Volunteer Fire Department of the City of Port Angeles and the members
thereof. Such Board shall consist of the following members:
A. The three members of the City Commission.
B. The chief of the Fire Department.
C. One member of the Fire Department to be chosen from
the membership which is not on a full -time, full -pay
basis.
Such Board shall have the powers and be subject to the limita-
tions prescribed by the laws of the State of Washington.
IIISECTION 3. The Board shall meet upon the call of the Mayor of
the City of Port Angeles and shall organize, make rules for its pro -
ceedings,- -keep records and make and publish a report of its activi-
ties and do and perform all things required by the laws of the State
of Washington providing therefore.
SKTION 4. The purpose and work of said Board is to aid the
State Treasurer in administering the Compensation and Relief Fund
with regard to the members of the Fire Department of the City of
Port Angeles.
SECTION 5. The Board shall hold its regular open meetings, at
_tines to be fixed by the Board, at the Chamber of the City Commission.
SECTION 6. The members shall act without pay on said work.
SECTION 7. The members of the said Fire Department shall pay
an annual fee of one dollar (,'1.00) each into said fund, and the
City of Port Angeles shall pay an annual fee of two dollars (;2.00)
for each regular member of the 'department. The said sum shell be
paid on or before the 15th day of January each year to the State
is Treasurer at Olympia, Washington.
SECTION 8. The entire membership of the Port Angeles Volunteer
Fire 'department shall not exceed thirty (30) men.
SECTION 9. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
thirty (30) days after its passage, approval and lawful publication.
