1 AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 1028 of the City of Port Angeles, relating
2 to the use of electric current furnished and distributed by the City of Port
3 Angeles and prescribing and fixing charges and rates for the sale of the same;
4 providing a discount for the prompt payment of bills for electric current used;
5 providing for the termination of service for non - payment for electric current
6 used; providing for and declaring an emergency; placing this ordinance in full
7 force and effect after its lawful publication.
8 THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
• 9 Section 1. That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 1028 of the City of Port Angeles, 1
10 approved May 13, 1936, amending Section 20 of Ordinance No. 890 of the City of
11 Port Angeles approved November 30, 1929, be and the same is here amended to read
12 as follows:

13 "Section 2. That Section 20 of Ordinance 890 of the City of Port Angeles,
14 approved November 30, 1929, be and said Section is hereby amended to read as
15 follows:
16 'Section 20. It shall be the duty of the Superintendent to regularly
17 read the meters of the consumers of electric current and to enter all
18 said accounts and charges in his meter books. The meter books each
19 ' month shall thereupon be turned over to the City Treasurer for entry
• 20 ' in the proper ledgers of the City Treasurer and for collection. All
21 charges against consumers of electric current shall be due and payable
22 at the office of the City Treasurer, without notice to the consumer,
23 on the first day of each month for the month preceding. A discount of
24 two per cent (2 %) shall be allowed on all accounts and charges paid on
• 25 or before the 15th of the month due. Should an account not be paid
26 before the 21st day of the month in which it becomes due, the City
27 Treasurer shal], notify the superintendent who shall immediately out off
28 electricity from the premises and it shall not again be turned on until
29 all arrears are paid, together with a fee of 111.00 for the turning on
• 30 of the current.'"
31 Section 2. This Ordinance is declared to be urgent and necessary for the

immediate preservation of the public peace, health andsafety of the people of
2 ' Port Angeles, which emergency is hereby declared and shall therefore take effect
3 and be in force immediately after its passage, approval and lawful publication.
4 Passed first reading by the CityCommission December 21, 1938.
5 Passed second reading by the City Commission December 28, 1938.
6 Passed third reading and finally adopted and passed by the City Commission
7 December 28, 1938.
8 Approved and signed by the Mayor, December 28, 1938.
