AN ORDINANCE approving and confirming the assessments and
assessment roll of Local Improvement District No.148 of the City of
:Port Angeles for the improvement of
8th Street from East Maxon of Lincoln Street
to West margin of Race Street,
9th Street from East Margin of Lincoln Street
to West Margin of Francis Street,
10th Street from East Margin of Lincoln Street
to East Margin of Eunice Street,
llth Street from East Margin of Lincoln Street
to East Margin of Eunice Street,
12th Street from West Margin of Chase Street to
West Margin of Vine Street,
Chase Street from the South Margin of 8th Street
to North Margin of 12th Street,
Peabody Street from the South Margin of 8th Street
to North Margin of llth Street,
Eunice Street from the South Margin of 8th Street
to North Margin of llth Street,
by the construction of concrete sidewalks on both sides of the
portions of said streets, which was provided for in Ordinance No.
1170, as amended by Ordinance No.1182; levying and assessing the
amounts thereof against the several lots, tracts and parcels of land
and other property as shown in said roll; authorizing the collection
of such assessment, creating and establishing a special Local Improve-
ment fund for said district, and ordering that the said assessments
be paid into such special fund.
THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the Assessment Roll for Local Improvement
District No.148 for the improvement of
8th Street from the East Margin of Lincoln Street
to the West margin of Race Street,

9th Street from the East Margin of Lincoln Street
to the West Margin of Francis Street,
10th Street from the East Margin of Lincoln
Street to the East Margin of Eunice Street,
llth Street from the East Margin of Lincoln
Street to the East Margin of Eunice Street,
12th Street from the West Margin of Chase Street
to the West Margin of Vine Street,
Chase Street from the South Margin of 8th Street
to the North Margin of 12th Street,
Peabody Street from the South Margin of 8th Street
to the North Margin of llth Street,
Eunice Street from the South Margin of 8th Street
to the North Margin of llth Street,
by the construction of concrete sidewalks on both sides of the
portions of said Streets in the City of Port Angeles which was pro-
vided for in Ordinance No.1170, as amended by Ordinance No.1182,
as said Assessment Roll now stands, after being equalized by the
City Commission at a hearing held for that purpose on August 13,
1947 after due notice as prescribed by statute, be and the same is
hereby in all respects approved and confirmed.
SECTION 2. That each lot, tract and parcel of land shown upon
said Assessment Roll is hereby declared to be speoially benefitted
by said improvement in at least the amount charged against the
same, and the assessments appearing against the same are in pro-
portion to the several assessments against each lot; tract and parcel
of land appearing upon said Roll, and there is hereby levied and
assessed against each said lot, tract or parcel of land appearing on
said Roll the amount actually charged and assessed therein upon and
against the same.
SECTION 3. There is hereby ereated and established for said
Local Improvement District No.148 a special fund to be known and
designated as Local Improvement Disb±ict No.148 for the uses and
purposes provided in such cases by law and the ordinances of said
City, and all such assessments shall be paid into said special fund
when collected.

SECTION 4. Said assessments, or any of them, may be paid
without interest at any time within thirty days from the date of
the first publication of the notice by the City Treasurer to pay the
same as required by law, and all payments not paid within the period
,of thirty days shall thereafter be paid in eight. equal annual in-
stallments, with interest thereon at the rate of 5% per annum.
SECTION 5. That immediately upon the taking effect of this
ordinance said assessment roll shall be turned over and delivered
to the City Treasurer for the collection thereof, who shall thereupon
proceed to collect the same according to law.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effeot
when it shall have been passed by the City Commission, approved by
the Mayor, attested by the City Clerk, approved by the City Attorney,
and from and after five days from its publication in the official '
newspaper of said City, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to cause
the same to be so published.
