AN ORDINANCE Relating to the Cemetery Fund; adopting and
approving an addition to the City Budget for the year 1948; pro-
viding for supervision of the cemetery; requiring expenditures
unforseen; providing for the transfer of the Cemetery Fund in and
to the Current Expense Fund; repealing Ordinance No. 780, and de-
claring an emergency.
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the City
Commission by the State Examiner that provision has not been made
in the budget for 1948, as adopted, for the disbursement of monies
in the Cemetery Fund, Now Therefore,
THE OITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Treasurer be, and she is, direc-
ted to transfer from the fund heretofore existing under the title
"Cemetery Fund" all unexpended monies remaining therein at the end
of the year 1947 to the Current Expense Fund and the Cemetery Fund
shall thereupon be abolished.
Section 2. That there be, and is hereby, added to the
appropriation for,expenditures for.the year 1948 the following dis-
bursements from the Current Expense Fund for cemetery purposes.
Salaries and Wages:
Sexton, salary - $ 2,640.00
Extra labor 500.00
Maintenance and Operation:
Tools and Hardware 50.00
Seeds and Fertilizer 50.00
Gas and Oil 60.00
Water 120.00
Miscellaneous Supplies 100.00
City Employee's Retirement Fund
Capital Outlay:
Improvement to Grounds
250.00
1,730.00

Section 3. That the care, maintenance and supervision of
the cemetery be, and it is, transferred from the Park Department to
the Engineering Department and Ordinance No. 780 adopted by the
City Commission on April 29, 1925, is hereby repealed.
Section 4. That by reason of the facts stated, an emer-
gency is hereby declared to exist which will require the issuance
of emergency warrants to provide for the said expenditures in
amounts required and the City Clerk is authorized to draw such
warrants and the Mayor is authorized to sign and issue the same.
Section 5. There is urgent necessity and emergency for
the passage and adoption and taking effect of this ordinance for
the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety,
which urgency and emergency is now hereby stated and declared;
therefore, this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after and immediately upon its passage, ap-
proval and lawful publication.
