ORDINANCE NO. /-24r4:1/
AN ORDINANCE granting to Public Utility District No. 1
of Clallam County, Crown - Zellerbach Corporation and Rayonier, Inc.,
their successors and assigns, the right to construct, maintain and
operate electric power lines by means of poles and wires to be
erected along certain streets and public places in the City of Port
Angeles for the purpose of transmitting electric current.
THE CITY CO77MISSION OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. That there be and is hereby granted to Pub -

'lie Utility District No. 1, of Clallam County, its successors and
assigns, the right, privilege, authority and easement to erect, main-
tain and use poles, or other suitable devices for the support of
wires, in, over, along and across the following described portions
of the streets and public places, in the City of Port Angeles, to
wit :
From the junction of Washington Street with
Lauridsen Boulevard; thence Easterly along
said Boulevard on a line thirty -seven and
one -half (372) feet from the Southerly boun-
dary thereof to the Westerly bus position of
the district with the proposed Bonneville
Power Administration Substation and from
there, in an Easterly direction on a line
twelve and one -half (12 *) feet from the
Southerly boundary of said Boulevard to the
Easterly city limits.
Section 2. That the location of said power lines and
installations at the junction of Washington Street and Lauridsen
411/0 1 Boulevard and across the Northerly portion of said Boulevard to the
.location defined in Section 1 hereof, shall be defined and determined
by the Superintendent of Light of the Light Department of the City of
Port Angeles.
Section 3: That there be and is hereby granted to Crown -
Zellerbach Corporation, its successors and assigns, the right, privi-
lege, authority and easement to erect, maintain and use poles, or
other suitable devices for the support of wires, in, over, along and
across the following described portions of the streets and public
places in the City of Port Angeles, to wit:
Along the Southerly side of Lauridsen
Boulevard on a line twelve and one -half
(12z) feet from the Southerly boundary
thereof from Chambers Street to the
Westerly bus position of said Crown -
Zellerbach Corporation.
Section 4: That there be and is hereby granted to
Rayonier, Inc., its successors and assigns, the right, privilege,
authority and easement to erect, maintain and use poles, or other
suitable devices for the support of wires, in, over, along and across
the following described portions of the streets and public places in
the City of Port Angeles, to wit:
Along the Northerly side of Lauridsen
Boulevard on a line twelve and one -half
(12i) feet from the Northerly margin
thereof from Chambers Street to the bus
position of said Rayonier, Inc.
Section 5: That the licensees of the privilege and ease-
ment, herein provided for, do severally agree, by exercising said
privilege, to save the City harmless by reason of any damage, or
claim of damage, to persons or property, or to the City of Port
Angeles arising from, or in any way growing out of, the erection,
installation or maintenance of the poles and wires herein provided
for.
Section 6. That all equipment installed by the licensees
within the corporate limits of the City of Port Angeles shall, in
every respect, conform to the requirements set forth and prescribed
by the statutes of the State of Washington, the Ordinances of the
City of Port Angeles and any other supervisory agency which is now,
or may hereafter be, in effect, and said licensees shall, at all times,
keep said installations in as safe condition and repair as possible
under the circumstances. The City of Port Angeles shall have full
right and authority, through its Light Superintendent, to inspect the
construction, equipment and material of the licensees for the purpose
of determining that the requirements of this ordinance have been
fully complied with.

Section 7: That the rights and privileges herein
granted shall be for a term of fifty (50) years from the effective
date of this Ordinance and the Licensees shall pay for said privi-
leges the sum of ONE (0..00) DOLLAR, each, per annum, for the term
hereof, in advance, on the first day of each calendar year,
Section 8. That the Licensees shall, within fifteen
(15) days from and after the approval of this Ordinance, file their
acceptances hereof, in writing, with the City Clerk of the City of
Port Angeles.
Section 9. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force after its passage and approval from and after thirty (30) days
after its lawful publication.
