ORDINANCE NO. J ,Py
An Ordinance placing in effect an adjustment of the salaries,
compensation and wages of certain employees of the electric distribution
system of the City of Port Angeles.
WHEREAS, the City of Port Angeles did by Ordinance No. 1292
fix the annual salaries, compensation and wages of the employees in
the City of Port Angeles including the employees of the electric
distribution system of said City for the year 1953, and
WHEREAS, subsequent to the passage and adoption of said salary
Ordinance it is found necessary that an adjustment or change in wages,
hours and conditions of employment be made in order to continue the
expedient operation of the electric light and power distribution system
of the City, which adjustment and change could not reasonably have been
foreseen at the time of the making of the annual salary Ordinance, and
WHEREAS, no previous adjustment has been made subsequent to
the adoption of the annual budget; now therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That effective from and after the first day of
May, 1953 the salaries, compensation and wages of the following positions
or class of employment of the City Light Department shall be as follows:
Line Crew Foreman $ 505.00 Per Month -
Lineman First Class 450.00 Per Month -
Apprentice Lineman 404.00 Per Month
Line Serviceman 435.00 Per Month
Meterman 425.00 Per Month
Meter Reader 275.00 Per Month
Accountant 385.00 Per Month
Meter Accountant. 350.00 Per Month
Assistant Meter Accountant 315.00 Per Month

Billing Machine Operator 260.00 Per Month
Deputy Treasurer (For Light Dept.)315.00 Per Month
Radio and Sub Attendant And
Electrical Inspector 405.00 Per Month
Groundman - Track Driver 372.50 Per Month
Groundman 2.07 Per Hour
Section 2. Basic work week shall be computed at forty (40)
hours per week, and no overtime shall be paid until after the employee
shall have worked forty (40) hours in one week. Overtime after forty
(40) hours in one week shall be computed at one and one -half (1i) hours
for each hour worked over forty (40) hours in any one week, and if
work is performed on Sunday or holidays time shall be computed at two
(2) hours for each hour warked,provided however, that overtime does
not apply to standby service.
Section 3. That any increased compensation represented by
the provisions of Section 1 hereof shall be an expense of the Light
Department and shall be paid from available revenues of the Light
Department, and no increase shall result in excess of expenditures
over revenues.
Section 4. That payment of said salaries shall be made at
the times and dates as specified as payment of salaries, compensation
and wages as set forth in Section 2 of Ordinance No. 1292 in accordance
with the payroll dates now effective.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
five days after its passage, signing and lawful publication.
