AN ORDINANCE vacating a portion of Eighth Street from the
Easterly line of "P`" Street to the Easterly line of Lot Sixteen
in Block 249 and "L" Street from the Southerly line of Seventh
'Street to the Northerly line of Eighth Street and a portion of
the alleys in Block 248, 249 and 250 of the City of Port Angeles.
fl EREAS,,School District No. 17 of Clallar County filed
'with the City of Port Angeles a petition praying for the vacation
of that portion of Eighth Street from the Easterly line of "L._"
i Street to the Easterly line of Lot Sixteen (16) in Block 249 and
"L" Street from the Southerly line of Seventh Street to the North-
erly line of Eighth Street, also the vacation of the alley in
Block 248 from the Easterly line of Lot Seven Westerly to "L"
Street, the alley in Block 249 extending from the Westerly line of
"L" Street to the Easterly line of "L." Street and that portion of
'the alley in Block 250 from the Easterly line of Lots 5 and Eight -
Oeen in said Block Westerly to "M" Street, and
WHEREAS, it is found that the school district owns all of
the property abutting upon the portions of the streets and alleys
sought to be vacated, and
WHEREAS, it is found by the City Council that it is for
the general public interest, that said school will be attended by
grade students and the vacation will promote the safety of such
students attending the school to be constructed by said District.
i30VJ, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
ANGELES DO ORDAIN as follows:
Section 1: That that portion of Eighth Street from the
Easterly line of "M" Street to the Easterly line
of Lot Sixteen (16) in Block Two Hundred
Forty -nine (249) and the Easterly line of Lot
Five (5) in Block Two Hundred Fifty (250),
being that portion of Eighth Street abutting
upon Lots Eleven (11) to Sixteen (16) in Block
Two Hundred Forty -nine (249) and Five (5) to
Ten (10) in Block Two Hundred Fifty (250);

"L" Street from the Southerly line of Seventh
Street to the Northerly line of Eighth.Street;
that portion of the alley in Block Two Hundred
Forty -eight (248) extending from the Easterly
line of Lots Seven (7) and Fourteen (14) in said
Block Two Hundred Forty - eight (248) Westerly
to "L" Street, being that portion of the alley
abutting upon Lots Seven (7) to Fourteen (14)
inclusive in Block Two Hundred Forty -eight (248);
the alley in Block Fwo Hundred Forty -nine (249)
extending from the Westerly line of "L" Street
to the Easterly line of "r," Street, being the
whole of the alley in said Block Two Hundred
Forty -nine (249); that portion of the alley in
mock Two Hundred Fifty (250) extending from the
Easterly line of Lots Five (5) and Sixteen (16)
in said Block Two Hundred Fifty (250) Westerly
to "M" Street, being that portion of the alley
abutting upon Lots Five (5) to Sixteen (16)
inclusive in said Block Two Hundred Fifty (250)
be, and the same are hereby vacated.
Section 2: That the City of Port Angeles reserves the
right to exercise and grant easements with respect to vacated
streets and alleys for the construction, repair and maintenance
of all public utilities and services, together with the right to
operate, maintain, repair and replace any such utilities.
Section 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect five (5) days after its passage, approval, signing and
lawful publication.
