AN ORDINANCE relating to the sale of certain class
of electric energy by the municipal Light and
Water System and adopting an electric rate schedule
to be known as industrial rates and to be termed
Schedule Six of light and power rates of the City
of Port Angeles.
WHEREAS, it has been found that no electric rate schedule
exists or is provided for customers of electric energy having an
electric load of 500 KW or over; and,
WHEREAS, it is found necessary that such schedule be
' adopted to cover the needs of customers of said City.
NOW, TH7REFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of
the City of Port Angeles as follows:
Section 1: That there be and is hereby established for
industrial service rates classified as industrial rates and to
be listed under schedule of electric energy and to be known as
"Schedule Six Large Industrial Service 500 KW Demand and Over ".
Section 2: That the monthly rates for electric service
used for industrial service other than where such use is covered
by snecial contract shall be listed as follows: "Schedule Six
Large Industrial Service 500 Kt:' Demand and Over ".
Section 3: Availability: This schedule shall cover
energy supplied for industrial purposes where the demand is 500
KW and over and the customer is supplied with the unregulated
sub - transmission system.
Section 14: Character of Service: The energy delivered
under thisschedule shall be unregulated three phase, 60 cycle,
A.C. supplied from the sub - transmission system through customer
owned transformers. The nominal potential shall be 13,800 volts.
The metering shall be at or corrected to the transmission voltage
level.
Section 5: Rate: The rate or charge for such service
shall be the energy charge plus the demand charge and shall be
no less than the minimum charge, computed as follows:

ENERGY CHARGE
First 200 KWH per KW of billing demand per month
€ $0.0055 per KWH.
Second 200 KWH per KW of billing demand per month
• x0.003 per KWH
All Over 400 KWH per KW of billing demand per month
• 00.002 per KWH.
DEMAND CHARGE
';0.75 per KW of billing demand per month.
Billing demand shall be no less than 75% of the highest
billing demand occurring during the preceding eleven
months, or 500 KW, whichever is greater.

81.75 per KW of billing demand per month, and not less
than )500.00 per month
Section 6: Demand: The demand shall be the maximum
fifteen - minute demand of the month, to the nearest whole number,
measured by a demand meter. Customers operating welders, X -Ray
machines, log dumps, elevators, etc., whose intermittent operation
does not permit demand metering, shall be billed an additional
charge of 00.50 per KW of nameplate rating or ;0.50 per KW of
demand as determined by test.
Section 7: Power ^actor: When the customer's average
power factor falls below 95/0 as measured by a reactive meter,
the billing demand will be ncreased 1% for each percentage
point below the 95% required. Minimum billing and demand charges
will be applied after the correction for low power factor.
Section 8: It is specifically ordained that this schedule
and service shall be subject to the general rules andsegulations
of 0^dinance No. 890.
