ORDINANCE NO. 8/2
AN ORDINANCE vacating the South 3 feet of the alley
between Fifth and Sixth Streets and running through
Block 167 of the Townsite of Port Angeles and
extending from Lincoln Street westerly to Laurel
Street.
WHEREAS, a petition has been filed by the owners of all
of the property of the lots of Block 167 of the Townsite of Port
Angles praying for the vacation of the South 3 feet of the alley
between Fifth and Sixth Streets and running through Block 167
of the Townsite of Port Angeles; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Angeles
did on the 19th day of December, 1957 pass a resolution fixing
Thursday the 16th day of January, 1958 at 7:30 o'clock P.M. of
said date in the Council Room in the Police Department building
at Front and Oak Streets in the City of Port Angeles, Washington
has the time and place for the hearing and determination of said
petition; and,
WHEREAS, due, legal and timely notice of the public hearing
on the matter of the vacation of said alley has been given for the
time and in the manner required by law; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Angeles
having held said hearing in the manner provided by law and no
objections to said vacation being presented and the City Council
being fully advised is of the opinion that the vacation, subject
to the easements reserved by the City of Port Angeles, should be
granted as requested in said petition.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the
City of Port Angeles as follows:
Section 1: That the South 3 feet of the alley between
Fifth and Sixth Streets and running through Block 167 of the

Townsite of Port Angeles and extending from Lincoln Street west-
erly to Laurel Street be, and the same is, hereby vacated; provided,
however, that in accordance with said petition there is reserved
to the City of Port Angeles the right to exercise and grant ease-

ments with respect to said vacated portion of the alley for the
construction, repair and maintenance of all public utilities and
services, together with the right to operate, maintain, repair
and replace any such utilities.
Section 2: This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect five days after its passage, approval, signing and
publication as required by law.
