AN ORDINANCE establishing a position classification and
pay plan for City employees and setting salaries of
certain officers and officials and providing for the
payment thereof.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
ANGELES, as follows:
Section 1. The following Position Classificationfor City
employees is hereby adopted to take effect January 1, 1966:

Section 2. The following Pay Step Plan for City employees
is hereby adopted to take effect January 1, 1964:

I * To be paid not more than the same hourly rate as starting
monthly rate for the classification.
When a person goes from a lower salary range to a higher
salary range, he shall be placed in a step which will give him
at least a $10.00 per month increase.
All salary raises are to be effective the first of the
'(month following date of eligibility.

Employees will be reviewed after being in each step one
llyear. A written review shall be made of each employee by his De-
partment Head whenever he is eligible for advancement. If an in-
(crease is not recommended, the reasons shall be discussed with the
City Manager. If he concurs with the Department Head, the decisions
must be discussed with the employee who should be told of his next
h review date. Decisions can also be reviewed the employee with the
!City Manager upon written request of the employee.
At the discretion of the Department Head and Manager, a new
review date of 3, 6, 9 or 12 months may be designated when an in-
crease is refused.
Section 3. That as of January 1, 1966, the monthly salaries
for the following listed officers and officials of the City of
1Port Angeles shall not exceed the amounts hereinafter set forth:

Section 4. All such salaries, compensation and wages shall
lbe paid in twenty -four installments, such installments to be as
(nearly equal as the established accounting procedure of the City
lof Port Angeles shall permit, and shall be paid on the fifth and
'the twentieth days of each month during the year 1966, or as soon
thereafter as the established accounting procedure of the City of

PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Angeles and
approved by its Mayor at a regular meeting of the Council held on
