An Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 1709,
the Zoning Ordinance.
The City Council of the City of Port Angles do ordain
as follows:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 1709_ with reference to zoning
is hereby amended by adding thereto a new section to be designated
Section 8 -A, which reads as follows:
CAD(R) COMMERCIAL ARTERIAL DISTRICT ( RESTRICTED )
"Section 8 -A:
Permitted uses:
Bakery shops
Barber shops, beauty shops
Delicatessens, grocery stores, supermarkets
Drug stores, pharmacies
Frozen food or cold storage lockers
hardware stores, shoe repair shops
Medical, dental offices and clinics
Cabinet shops
Churches, clubs, lodges
Florists shops, nurseries, garden supplies
Professional offices
Restaurants, cafeterias
Self- service laundries
Apartsments
Specialty shops: gift, florist, hobby, antique,
watch, pet
Banks, financial institutions
Fiurniture,sales, repair, upholstering
Glass edging, beveling, silvering
Hardware, plumbing supply stores
Motels, hotels, cocktail loungees
Printing, blueprinting, photostating
Conditional uses:
Automobile body and fender repair shops, paint
shops, truck, trailer, motorcycle, tractor sales
and repair (including automobile laundries)
ambulance service.
Boat sales and repairs.
Service stations, automobile maintenance and repair
shops, tire shops.
Wholesale business and storage buildings.
Veterinary clinics, offices, kennels, provided:
'(1) buildings and structures are soundproof
(2) all run areas are surrounded by an 8 -foot
wall or fence (3) animal runs are to be construe
ted in such a manner that no animal can see another
(4) that an incinerator of a type approved by the
City Health Department is installed.
Public Utility structures.
Signs, Sign shops.
Offstreet parking buildings and lots.
Minimum Lot Area: 7,000 square feet
Minimum Lot Width: 50 feet
Screening:
Screening and landscaping requirements, sufficient
to buffer the neighborhood residential area against
noise, light, and debris, will be determined by the
Planning Commission for any uses whether Permitted
or Conditional.
Through parking lots and driveways may require the
installation of "speed bumps" to control vehicular
speeds; all property illumination will require
shielding to protect abutting residential properties
from undesirable lighting; drainage disposal fac-
ilities, satisfactory to the City Engineer, will be
provided; debris and refuse receptacles, or
enclosures, of sufficient capacity to serve the
occupancy will be provided and maintained in such
condition to insure against dispersal throughout the
neighborhood.
Minimum Yard Requirements:
Side: No structure shall be built within 15 feet of
any property that has a residential zoning
classification.
Rear: No structure shall be built within the rear
15 feet of a zoning lot that abuts an alley or a
Residential District.
Maximum Lot Coverage: 60% total site area.
Maximum Height: 30 feet..
Offstreet Parking: (See Article V and Ordinance No.
1588) .
Signs Permitted:
Signs, lighted but not intermittent or flashing type,
not exceeding 300 square feet total area. All signs
over 10 square feet in area shall be restricted to
territory no closer than 100 feet to all property in
a Residential District. Maximum height 35 feet.
