ORDINANCE NO. ,2/74
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Angeles
vacating the easterly 20 feet of the
unnamed 100- foot -wide right -of -way at
the west line of Port Angeles Townsite,
between 18th Street and 22nd Street.

WHEREAS, a petition is on file with the City of Port
Angeles to vacate the easterly 20 feet of the unnamed 100- foot -wid
right -of -way at the west line of Port Angeles Townsite, between
18th Street and 22nd Street; and
WHEREAS, the requirements of Chapter 43.21C RCW, the
State Environmental Policy Act, have been met and a public hearing
has been held by the City Council following public notice pursuant
to Chapter 35.79 RCW; and
WHEREAS, said vacation appears to be of benefit to and
in the interest of the public; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
ANGELES as follows:
Section '1. Vacation. Subject to the terms and condi-
tions of this Ordinance, the following described portion of an
unnamed street is hereby vacated:
A portion of the easterly 20 feet of the unnamed 100-foot-
wide right -of -way at the west line of Port Angeles Town -
site, being parallel with and adjacent to Suburban Lots
134 and 135, and being more particularly described as fol-
lows:
Beginning at the northwest corner of Suburban Lot 134,
THENCE S 14 °17'18" W along the west line of Suburban
Lot 134 a distance of 239.96 feet to the north right -of-
way line of the landfill access road; THENCE N 68 °54'22"
W along the north right -of -way line of the landfill ac-
cess road a distance of 20.14 feet; THENCE N 14 °17'18"
E a distance of 244.44 feet to the south right -of -way
line of 18th Street, extended; THENCE S 56 °45'06" E
along the south right -of -way line of 18th Street extended
a distance of 21.15 feet to the point of beginning;
ALSO
Beginning at the point of intersection of the west line
of Suburban Lot 134 and the south right -of -way line of
the landfill access road, said point being S 14 °17'18"
W a distance of 290.32 feet from the northwest corner
of Suburban Lot 134; THENCE S 14 °17'18" W along the
west line of Suburban Lot 134 a distance of 455.12
feet to the northwest corner of Suburban Lot 135;
THENCE S 14 °17'18" W along the west line of Suburban
Lot 135 a distance of 745.44 feet to the southwest
corner of Suburban Lot 135; THENCE N 56 °45'06" W
along the north right -of -way line of 22nd Street ex-
tended a distance of 21.15 feet; THENCE N 14 °17'18"
E a distance of 1,196.08 feet; THENCE S 68 °54'22" E
along the south right -of -way line of the landfill
access road a distance of 20.14 feet to the point
of beginning; containing 0.661 acres, more or less.
Section 2. Compensation. In lieu of the compensation
authorized in RCW 35.79.030 for the vacation of said portion of
an unnamed street, the Petitioner shall execute a Warranty Deed
conveying to the City of Port Angeles a 50 -foot right -of -way des-
cribed as follows:
A tract or parcel of land for street and utility pur-
poses, located in Suburban Lot 134, Townsite of Port
Angeles, being 50 feet in width, and being more par-
ticularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the south right -of -way line
of 18th Street, N 56 °45'06" W a distance of 113.22
feet from the center line of vacated "R" Street; THENCE
S 85 °31'26" W a distance of 234.75 feet to a point of
curvature to the right with a central angle of 25 °34'12"
and a radius of 585 feet; THENCE along the arc of said
curve to the right a distance of 261.07 feet to the
point of tangency; THENCE N 68 °54'22" w a distance
of 103.33 feet to the westerly line of Suburban Lot 134;
THENCE N 14 °17'18" E along the westerly line of Suburban
Lot 134 a distance of 50.36 feet to a point S 14 °17'18"
W a distance of 239.96 feet from the northwest corner
of Suburban Lot 134; THENCE S 68 °54'22" E a distance of
109.29 feet to a point of curvature to the left with a
central angle of 25 °34'12" and a radius of 535 feet;
THENCE along the arc of said curve to the left a dis-
tance of 238.76 feet to the point of tangency; THENCE
N 85 °31'26" E a distance of 170.11 feet to the south
right -of -way line of 18th Street; THENCE S 56 °45'06"
E along the south right -of -way line of 18th Street a
distance of 81.62 feet to the point of beginning; con-
taining 0.641 acres, more or less.
Section 3. Quit Claim Deed. Upon compliance with the
terms and conditions of this Ordinance, the owner of abutting
property entitled to the vacated portion of the unnamed street,
pursuant to RCW 35.79.040, may present a quit claim deed to the
City of Port Angeles for execution by the Mayor, who is hereby
authorized and directed to execute such quit claim deed. Such
quit claim deed shall include all reservations, conditions, or
other qualifications upon the title established by this Ordinance.

Section 4. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall be ef-
fective only upon the satisfaction of the terms and conditions of
this Ordinance, and the Clerk is hereby directed to file, record
and publish this Ordinance upon that satisfaction.

at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 3rd day of Novem-
ber, 1981.

RE: Ray Nason Street Vacation /Property Trade
Attached is the original signed and notarized Warranty Deed from
Ray Nason to the City covering the portion of Suburban Lot 134
encompassing the 50-foot right -of -way for the Landfill Access Road.
This was delivered to our office this morning.
Also attached is the original Quit Claim Deed from the City to
Mr. Nason covering the transfer of approximately 20 feet of the
right -of -way abutting Suburban Lots 134 and 135. At your con-
venience, I would appreciate having this deed signed and notarized
and the original returned to me for transmittal to Mr. Nason.
