AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Angeles,
Washington, increasing penalties for unpaid
parking tickets issued prior to July 25,
1987.
WHEREAS, the City of Port Angeles has a need to have a
uniform failure to respond penalty for all unpaid parking tickets

all unpaid tickets to be "tagged" to vehicle registrations so
that they must be paid prior to renewal of vehicle registration;
and
WHEREAS, parking tickets of the City of Port Angeles
issued prior to July 25, 1987, were treated by simply revising
the fee to $20.00, which had the effect of raising some penalties
and lowering others, and which procedure was unacceptable to the
Washington State Department of Licensing;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
ANGELES DOES HEREBY ORDAIN as follows:
Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of any other
ordinances, any parking infraction issued prior to July 25, 1987,

the registered owner, shall have a total penalty comprised of
the sum of the original penalty at issuance of said infraction
plus $25.00.
Section 2 - Effective Date. This ordinance shall
become effective in the manner provided by law.
