ON April 4, 1989
ORDINANCE NO. 2528
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Angeles, Washington, establishing
a pay plan for the employees represented by IBEW, Local #997, for
the period of April 1, 1989 through March 31, 1990, and providing
for the payment thereof.
This ordinance shall take effect April 1, 1989.
Full text of said ordinance shall be mailed upon request.

RE: 1989 Salary Increase for IBEW Local #997
ISSUE: Should the City Council approve the attached salary
ordinance enacting a salary increase for employees represented by
IBEW Local #997, effective April 1, 1989?
BACKGROUND /ANALYSIS: The labor agreement between the City of
Port Angeles and the International Brotherhood of Electrical
Workers Local #997 provides for a 2% cost of living increase
effective April 1, 1989. This wage increase is in compliance
with the second year of the three -year agreement which also
provides for a compensation study which is currently in progress
and the results will be brought back to the Council in several
weeks, upon completion.
Attached for the Council's information and approval is a salary
ordinance enacting the 2% cost of living increase effective April
1, 1989, for the classifications represented by IBEW.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council approve
the attached salary ordinance providing for a 2% cost of living
increase for IBEW Local #997 represented classifications,
effective April 1, 1989, and providing for the payment thereof.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DOES
RDAIN as follows:
Section 1. Effective April 1, 1989, through March 31,
990, the wages and position classification and pay plan for the
ollowing designated positions are hereby adopted as follows:

Section 2. The above wages shall be paid in bi- weekly
installments per accounting procedures established by the City of
Port Angeles, and shall be paid within five (5) working days after
the end of the payroll period, or as soon thereafter, per
procedures established by the City of Port Angeles.
PASSED by the City Council of the city of Port Angeles
at a regular meeting of said Council held on the
April, 1989.
