AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Angeles
recodifying Section 10, Ordinance No.
2449, relating to the Port Angeles
Medic I Board, and repealing Section
5.08.120 of the Port Angeles Municipal
Code.
WHEREAS, at the time Ordinance No. 2449, dealing with
ambulance services was prepared and codified in Title 5 of the
Port Angeles Municipal Code, a section creating the Port Angeles
Medic I Board was included therein; and
WHEREAS, the section relating to the creation of the
Port Angeles Medic I Board is more appropriately placed in Title
2, Administration and Personnel, of the Port Angeles Municipal
Code; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DOES
ORDAIN as follows:
Section 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 2449 is hereby
recodified as follows:
CHAPTER 2.54
PORT ANGELES MEDIC I BOARD
Sections:
2.54.010 Port Angeles Medic I Board Created.
2.54.020 Membership.
2.54.030 Duties.
2.54.010 Port Angeles Medic I Board Created. There
is hereby created a Port Angeles Medic I Board of eleven members
for the City.
2.54.020 Membership. The membership of the Port
Angeles Medic I Board shall be as follows:
A. One member shall be the representative of the
administration of Olympic Memorial Hospital; one member shall be
the Medic I Physician Coordinator; one member shall be the

representative of the Clallam County Emergency Medical Services
Council; one member shall be the Port Angeles Chief of Police or
its designee; one member shall be the Port Angeles Fire Chief or
is designee; one member shall be the representative of the Port
ngeles Senior Center; one member shall be the representative of
the Port Angeles City Council; four members shall be
representatives of the citizenry at large.
B. Citizen members.
1. The citizen members of the Board shall be
appointed by the City Council in accordance with the Council's
Rules of Procedure and may be removed from office for reasons
deemed appropriate by the Council, including but not limited to
malfeasance in office or neglect of duties.
2. Criteria used in selecting citizen members shall
include but not be limited to the following:
a. Members shall be residents of the City.
b. Members shall have displayed an interest in
the work of the Board.
c. Members shall be selected in accordance with
the Equal Opportunity Guidelines.
d. Members shall be appointed without regard to
political affiliation.
2.54.030 Duties. The Port Angeles Medic I Board shall
be responsible for reviewing the qualifications and performance
of licensees under Chapter 5.08 of the Port Angeles Municipal
Code and shall advise the City Council with regard to the
agreement between the licensee and the Police and Fire
Departments and all other matters pertaining to said Chapter.
Section 2. PAMC 5.08.120 is hereby repealed.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect five days
after date of publication.

ORDINANCE NO. 2597
An ordinance of the City of Port Angeles moving
Section 10 of Ordinance No. 2449, which relates to the Port
Angeles Medic I Board, to a different Title in the Port
Angeles Municipal Code.
This ordinance shall take effect 5 days after
publication. Full text of said ordinance shall be mailed upon
request.
