THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DOES HEREBY
ORDAIN as follows:
Section 1. Ordinance 2398, as most recently amended by
Ordinance 2770, and Chapter 12.08 of the Port Angeles Municipal
Code are hereby amended by adding a new section to read as follows:
12.08.115 Scheduling of Permitted Activities. The
scheduling of activities permitted pursuant to this Chapter shall
be in accordance with the following requirements:
A. Conference and Convention Events.
Conferences, conventions and other events which
attract visitors to Port Angeles shall be eligible
for reservations for an unlimited period in
advance of the event. Once the event is
scheduled, there shall be no cancellation by the
City without approval of the event sponsor.
B. Annual Community Events. Events that are
annual, open to the community, and significant to
the community in general shall be eligible for
reservations up to nine months in advance of the
event. Once the event is scheduled, there shall
be no cancellation by the City without approval of
the event sponsor. Annual community events
include, but are not limited to, fund raising
events of local non - profit corporations.
C. Private Events. Events that are scheduled
for a single occasion, are not significant to the
community in general, and are by invitation only
shall be eligible for reservations up to nine
months in advance of the event; provided, however,
that such events cannot be displaced by conference
and convention events within 120 days of the event
date. If no conference and convention event
displaces a private event up to 120 days before
the event date, the private event advance
reservation shall be deemed confirmed. Private
events include, but are not limited to, weddings
and receptions, private parties, and similar
occasions. In the event a private event is
displaced, the Parks and Recreation Department
will attempt to relocate or reschedule the private
event.
D. Scheduling Information. On a regular basis
the Parks and Recreation Department will furnish
to the North Olympic Peninsula Visitors and
Convention Bureau and the Port Angeles Chamber of
Commerce an updated schedule of activities that
have been scheduled at the Vern Burton Memorial

Community Center. By request such schedule will
also be provided to other interested parties.
Section 2 - Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take
effect five days after publication by summary.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Angeles at
a regular meeting of said Council held on the 19th day of April ,
1994.

Ordinance No. 2803
This Ordinance of the City of Port Angeles provides for a reduction of 4.6% in
the tonnage rate at the landfill for solid waste collectors who have filed a
certificate of exemption under WAC 458 -20 -250 from payment of the 4.6% solid
waste collection tax, so that the rate in effect on April 1, 1994, shall be $73.27.
Ordinance No. 2804
This Ordinance of the City of Port Angeles annexes certain territory to the City
which is legally described as all of Blocks 5 and 8; Lots 36 -40, Block 6; Lots 1-
10 and 28 -40, Block 7; and streets and alley abutting; all in Phillip's Addition to
Port Angeles, Washington, recorded in Volume 2 of Plats, page 5, records of
Clallam County, WA.

This Ordinance of the City of Port Angeles establishes regulations for the
scheduling of permitted activities at the Vern Burton Memorial Community Center
and amends Ordinance 2398, as amended, and Chapter 12.08 of the Port Angeles
Municipal Code.
The full texts of the Ordinances are available at City Hall in the City Clerk's office or will be
mailed upon request. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
These Ordinances shall take effect five days after the date of publication of these summaries.
