AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Angeles,
Washington, revising the specifications for
driveways and amending Ordinance 2166 and
Chapter 11.08 of the Port Angeles Municipal
Code.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DOES HEREBY
ORDAIN as follows:
Section 1. Section 14 of Ordinance 2166 and PAMC 11.08.140
are hereby amended to read as follows:
11.08.140 Additional Specifications - Driveways.
Driveways shall be constructed in accordance with the following
specifications:
A. The maximum single driveway width for lot frontage of
seventy -five feet or less shall not exceed twenty fivc feet at the
curb, including excluding transitions.
B. The maximum single driveway width for lot frontage e-f
exceeding seventy -five feet or morc shall not exceed thirty fivc
feet at the curb, including excluding transactions.
C. The minimum single driveway width shall be twelve feet
at the curb, excluding transitions.
GD . Where two or more adjoining driveways are provided for
the same property, a full curb height safety island of not less
than fifteen feet, at the curb, must be provided.
DE. No driveway apron shall extend into the street further
than the face of the curb_ or into the guttcr arcs.
EF. No driveway shall be located within twenty -five feet
including transitions, of a regular crosswalk area at an
intersection or any other designated crosswalk area.
G. No driveway shall be located within ten feet,
including transitions, of a side lot line.
FH. No driveway may be located so as to conflict with
power poles, street lights, fire hydrants, or other above - ground
public facilities.
Section 2. Section 16 of Ordinance 2166 and PAMC 11.08.160
are hereby amended to read as follows:

11.08.160 Additional Specifications - Driveways
Aaterials .
A. All residential driveways shall be constructed of
Class 5 (1 1/2) or 5 (3/4) 3000 cement concrete, not less than six
inches thick. Exposed aggregate work or special surface treatment
shall not be allowed in public right of way. Driveways shall be
constructed in conformance with the standard specifications adopted
by this Qchapter
B. All commercial or industrial driveways shall be
constructed in accordance with specifications provided by the City
Engineer.
C. All driveways shall slope upward from the gutter e
3idc of the 3idcwalk at not less than one-
quarter inch to one foot_ and not morc than thrcc quartcr inch to
onc foot. Curb height at a depressed driveway shall not be mere
than two inches, nor 1c3s than onc inch. one -half inch.
Section 3 - Severability. If any provision of this
Ordinance, or its application to any person or circumstances, is
held invalid, the remainder of the Ordinance, or application of the
provision of the Ordinance to other persons or circumstances, is
not affected.
Section 4 - Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take
effect five days after publication.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Angeles at
a regular meeting of said Council held on the 5th day of Sept.,
1995.

Ordinance No. 2881
This Ordinance of the City of Port Angeles rezones property located on Lincoln Street south of
Second Street from PBP, Public Buildings and Parks, to CBD, Central Business District.
Ordinance No. 2882
This Ordinance of the City of Port Angeles amends Section 17.22.220 of the Port Angeles Municipal
Code as it relates to signs in the CSD, Community Shopping District.
Ordinance No. 2883
This Ordinance of the City of Port Angeles establishes a right -of -way fee for retail stands and amends
Ordinances 2070 and 2789, as amended, and Chapters 3.70 and 17.26 of the Port Angeles Municipal Code.
Ordinance No. 2884
This Ordinance of the City of Port Angeles amends Ordinance 2351, as amended, and enlarges the boundaries
of the Parking and Business Improvement Area.
Ordinance No. 2885
This Ordinance of the City of Port Angeles revises the process for adopting clearing and grading rules and
guidelines and amends Ordinance 2734 and Chapter 15.28 of the Port Angeles Municipal Code.
Ordinance No. 2886
This Ordinance of the City of Port Angeles revises the specifications for driveways, and amends Ordinance
2166 and Chapter 11.08 of the Port Angeles Municipal Code.
Ordinance No. 2887
This Ordinance of the City of Port Angeles revises the Civil Service policies and provisions that govern the
system of employment of Police and Fire Department personnel by changing the composition of the Interview
Board and increasing the number of candidates certified for possible appointment for entry level positions
and amends Ordinance 2371, as amended, and Chapter 2.22 of the Port Angeles Municipal Code.
The full texts of the Ordinances are available at City Hall in the City Clerk's office or will be mailed upon request.
Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
These Ordinances shall take effect five days after the date of publication of these summaries.
