AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port
Angeles, Washington, amending the
Comprehensive Plan Land Use Map
and amending Ordinance 2818.
WHEREAS, the City of Port Angeles adopted its present Comprehensive Plan on June
28, 1994, by Ordinance No. 2818; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Angeles has established a process for amending the
Comprehensive Plan by Ordinance No. 2858; and
WHEREAS, amendment proposals have been received, review given, public notices
provided, and public hearings held in a timely manner; and
WHEREAS, the proposed 1996 Comprehensive Plan amendments have been reviewed
for consistency with the Port Angeles Comprehensive Plan, the Clallam County -Wide
Planning Policy, and the Growth Management Act; and
WHEREAS, the SEPA review of the proposed amendment has been completed by
adoption of the Environmental Impact Statement prepared for adoption of the 1995
Comprehensive Plan on April 18, 1996; and
WHEREAS, following public hearings, the Planning Commission has recommended
approval of the proposed 1996 Comprehensive Plan amendments; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has held a public hearing, has considered the Planning
Commission's recommendations, and has entered its findings and conclusions addressing the
elements set forth in PAMC 18.04.060 and in support of adopting the proposed 1996
Comprehensive Plan amendments;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance 2818 and the Comprehensive Plan are hereby amended by
adopting the following 1996 Comprehensive Plan amendments:
A. The Comprehensive Land Use Map shall be replaced with the attached Exhibit "A ",
which includes the following changes:

Section 2. Said 1996 Comprehensive Plan amendments shall be incorporated into the
Comprehensive Plan as kept on file with the City Clerk.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect five days after publication.

Summaries of Ordinances Adopted by the
Port Angeles City Council
on June 4, 1996
Ordinance No. 2917
This Ordinance of the City of Port Angeles amends the Comprehensive Plan Land
Use Map and amends Ordinance 2818.
Ordinance No. 2918
This Ordinance of the City of Port Angeles allows more flexibility in determining
buffer requirements and creates a "minor construction" exemption in the
Environmentally Sensitive Areas Protection Ordinance and amends Ordinance
2656 and Chapter 15.20 of the Port Angeles Municipal Code.
Ordinance No. 2919
This Ordinance of the City of Port Angeles revises the requirements for final
approval of planned residential developments so that each phase of a phased PRD
shall have an additional one -year period for final approval, and the applicant may
apply to the Planning Commission, and the Commission may approve, one or
more one -year extensions as the Commission may deem appropriate. This
Ordinance amends Ordinance 2038 and Chapter 17.19 of the Port Angeles
Municipal Code.
Ordinance No. 2920
This Ordinance of the City of Port Angeles relates to improvement exceptions for
short plats in commercially zoned areas and amends Ordinance 2222, as amended,
and Chapter 16.04 of the Port Angeles Municipal Code.
The full texts of the Ordinances are available at City Hall in the City Clerk's office or will be
mailed upon request. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
These Ordinances shall take effect five days after the date of publication of these summaries.
