AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Angeles, Washington, establishing
speed limits on certain public streets in the City, amending Section 22
of Ordinance 1310, as most recently amended by Ordinance 2706, and
amending Chapter 10.16 of the Port Angeles Municipal Code.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES DOES ORDAIN as
ollows:
Section 1. Section 22 of Ordinance 1310, as most recently amended by Ordinance 2706,
nd Chapter 10.16 of the Port Angeles Municipal Code are hereby amended by amending PAMC
0.16.020 to read as follows:
10.16.020 Speed Limits on Specified Streets. It shall be unlawful to operate a motor
ehicle or any other vehicle at a speed in excess of the following speeds in the following locations:
A. 15 miles per hour on Second Street from the east margin of Lincoln Street to the
ast margin of Chase Street.
B. 20 miles per hour on:
1. First Street and Front Street from the west margin of Lincoln Street to
he west margin of Cherry Street.
2. Cherry Street from the south margin of Front Street to the north margin
f First Street.
3. Railroad Avenue from the east margin of Lincoln Street to the west
argin of Oak Street.
4. Oak Street from the south margin of Railroad Avenue to the north margin
f First Street.
5. Laurel Street from the south margin of Railroad Avenue to the north
argin of First Street.

6. Lincoln Street from the south margin of Railroad Avenue to the north
margin of Front Street.
7. DelGuzzi Drive from the south margin of SR 101 to the north margin of
Lindberg Road.
C. 30 miles per hour on:
1. "I" Street from the south margin of Fifth Street to the north margin of
16th Street.
2. 16th Street from the west margin of "C" Street to the east margin of "I"
Street.
3. Tumwater Street from the south margin of Marine Drive to the north
margin of Fifth Street.
4. Fifth Street from the east margin of Tumwater Street to the east margin
of "L" Street.
5. Eighth Street from the east margin of "I" Street to the west margin of
Race Street.
6. Lauridsen Boulevard from the west margin of Cherry Street to the west
margin of Ennis Street.
7. Peabody Street from the south margin of First Street to the north margin
of Lauridsen Boulevard.
8. Laurel Street from the south margin of Lauridsen Boulevard to the north
margin of Viewcrest Avenue.
9. Race Street from the south margin of First Street to the north margin of
Park Avenue.
10. Tenth Street from the west margin of "I" Street to the east margin of "N"
Street.
11. Lincoln Street from the north margin of Front Street to the north margin
of Lauridsen Boulevard.
12. Marine Drive from the west margin of the intersection of First Street and
Valley Street to the west margin of "A" Street, except as otherwise posted.
13. S.R. 101 from the margin of Lauridsen Boulevard to the west City limits.
14. Park Avenue from the east margin of Laurel Street to the west margin of
Race Street.
15. Mount Angeles Road from the north margin of Park Avenue to the south
City limits.
D. 35 miles per hour on:
1. 18th Street from the west margin of "I" Street to the west City limits.
2. "C" Street from the south margin of Eighth Street to the north margin of
Lauridsen Boulevard.
3. Lauridsen Boulevard from the west margin of the Tumwater Truck Route
to the west City limits.

674. Marine Drive from the west margin of "A" Street to the United States
Coast Guard Air Station on Ediz Hook, except as otherwise posted.
5. Front Street from the east margin of Lincoln Street to the east City limits.
876. First Street from the east margin of Lincoln Street to the east City limits.
977. Golf Course Road from the south margin of First Street to the north
margin of Lindberg Road.
8. "L" Street from the south margin of 18th Street to the north margin of
Lauridsen Boulevard.
E. 40 miles per hour on:
1. The Tumwater Truck Route (SR 117) from the south margin of Marine
Drive to the north margin of SR 101. (Ord. 2706 §1, 8/28/92.)
Section 2. This ordinance shall be forwarded to the Department of Transportation for
approval by the Secretary of Transportation pursuant to RCW 46.61.415(5), along with such
documentation as may exist or reasonably may be produced which will help insure its approval;
provided that, if the Secretary of Transportation denies approval for any speed limit for any location
covered by this ordinance, the maximum speed in that location will be the lowest maximum speed
acceptable to the Secretary of Transportation but not below the speed limit of this ordinance.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect five days after publication or after approval
by the Secretary of Transportation, whichever is later.
Section 4. If any provision of this ordinance or its application to any person or
circumstance, is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance, or the application of the provision to
other persons or circumstances, shall not be affected, and to this end the provisions of this ordinance
are declared to be severable.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Angeles at a regular meeting of said
Council held on the 19TH day of DECEMBER , 2000.

Port Angeles City Council

Ordinance No. 3072
This Ordinance of the City of Port Angeles establishes speed limits on certain
public streets in the City, amends Section 22 of Ordinance 1310, as most recently
amended by Ordinance 2706, and amends Chapter 10.16 of the Port Angeles
Municipal Code. The speed limit on Park Avenue from the east margin of
Peabody Street to the west margin of Race Street has been decreased from 35
miles per hour to 30 miles per hour, and the speed limit on Mount Angeles Road
from the north margin of Park Avenue to the south City limits has also been
decreased from 35 miles per hour to 30 miles per hour.
Ordinance No. 3073
This Ordinance of the City of Port Angeles vacates that portion of the
undeveloped street commonly identified as the 8th/lOth Crossover Drive in Lots
13 - 20, Block 306 of the Townsite of Port Angeles, Washington.
The full texts of the Ordinances are available at City Hall in the City Clerk's office or will be
mailed upon request. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Ordinance No. 3072 shall take effect five days after publication of this summary or after
approval by the Secretary of Transportation, whichever is later. Ordinance No. 3073 shall take
effect five days after publication of this summary.
