The Commission me~ in regular session at 10 a.m. and was called to order by Mayor
Davis. Roll call showed the following officers present: Mayor Davis, Commissioners
Lutz and Masters, Attorney Plummer and ~lerk Hawkins.
The minutes of the previous session were read and approved.
Under the head of Application for Building Permits. the following were granted:
John Goneis, Remodel Store Room, Lot 7, Blk. 1, Tideland East
Lum Sue. Remodel Apartment, Lot 20, Blk. 237, Townsite

Police Judge Thomas Geisness reported 27 cases tried and J195.65 collected in finea
for the month of December, 1934. Report ordered filed.
Under the head of Reading and Passage of Ordinances the following Ordinances were
read by title and placed on their third readings:
AN ORDINANCE stating facts constituting an emergency affecting the public health and
safety, and public interest; requiring expend.i tures not foreseen; declaring such emer-
gency,to exist and fixing the amount required to provide therefor and the issuance of
warrants against proper funds, and declaring an emergency for the adoption of this
ordinance.
It was moved by Mayor Davis that the foregoing Ordinance be placed on its final
reading and adopted. Seconded by Commissioner Masters. On roll call all members voted
aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
AN ORDINANCE Confirming the result of the special bpnd election held on September 29,
1933; Ratifyint Ordinance No. 989 providing for the reconstruction of the EighthStreet
bridges over Valley amd Tumwater GUlches i~ Port Ange1es, and authorizing the issue of
$55,000.00 negotiable serial bonds of the liity to provide funds for said improvemBDt;
Providing for the form and maturities of the bonds and the issue and sale thereof;
Creating an Interest and Redemption Fund providing for annual tax levies for the payment
thereof and declaring an emergency:
It was moved by Commissioner Masters that the foregoing Ordinance be placed on its
final reading and adopted. Seconded by Commissioner Lutz. On roll call all members
voted aye. The lilayor declared the motion carried.
Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the following Resolution was intro-
duced:
RESOLUTION
PROVIDING FOR NOTICE OF SALE OF EIGHTH STREET
BRIDGE BONDS.
Ordinance No. 1010 having been adopted providing for the form and maturity of the
Eighth Street Bridge Bonds authorized by the electors at a special bond election held
on September 29, 1933, and providing for tax levies and sinking fund for the payment
of said bonds, and it being desired to place the same on aale,
BE IT RESOLVED That Wednesday, the 30th day of January, 1935, at 10 o'clock, a.m.,
of said day, at the ~ssembly room of the ~ity ~ommission of the City of Port Angeles on
the second floor of the Fire liepartment Building on Lincoln Street in said ';i ty, be and
the same is hereby fixed as the time and place for the opening of the sealed bids for
the purchase of said bonds.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the ~ity Clerk be and he is hereby instructed to issue
and publiSh notice of sale of said bonds for the time and in the form and manner pro-
vided by statute and mail a copy of the said notice to the State Finance Committee within
the time required by law.
It was moved by Commissioner Masters that the foregoing Resolution be approved and
adopted. Seconded by Mayor Davis. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor
declared the motion carried.
Under the head of Reading and Passage of Ordinances the following Ordinance was
read by title and placed on its third reading:
AN ORDINANCE authorizing Paris Motor Company, Inc., a corporation, to lay, con-
struct, ma1ritain, operate and repair a pipeline fOJ:. the traj}sportation of gasoline
under, along and across certain portions of streets and alleys in the City of Port Angeles.
It was moved by Commissioner 1msters that the 'foregoing Ordinance be'placed on'its
final reading and adopted. Seconded by Commissioner Lutz. On roll call all members voted
aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
Under the head of Introduction of Ordinances the following Ordinance was intro-
duced, read in full and placed on i te first and second read ings,-
AN ORDINANC~, fixing the salaries, compensatiun and wages of certain officers and
employees of the "i ty of Port ringel es, Yiashington.
Under the head of New Business,-
Mayor and ~ity Clerk authorized to sign a contract for the pUrchase of Li~uid
Chlorine from the Hooker Electrochemical Company of Tacoma,.. lashing ton .
The Annual Report of C:. A. ,101 vel' ton, C:hie f of Fire Departmen t, was read and
ordered filed.
