The Port Angeles City Council met in regular session at 7 :30 P. M., am was calls d to order by Mayor I
Richardson. other Officers present wore: COWlcilmen Smith, Sandison, Maxfield, Thorne, Randall and Caldwell,
Manager Slankard, Attorney Moffett and Clerk . Law .
It was moved by Councilman Sandison that the minutes of the previous meeting be approvod as submitted.
Seconded by Councilman Thorne and carried.
Under the head of unfinished business, the Manager reported on tabulation of bids to furnish gasoline,
I diesel alIi fuel oll for City Departments, recommending the ~best offers as Texaco for gasoline, Richfisld Oil
Co. far Diesel alIi MoMahan Fuel Co. and Peninsula Fuel for heavy furnace oil at 09~. It was moved by
Councilman Randall that the offer by the Texas Co. for gasoline at .2321 alIi .2095, and Richfield Oil Co.
for Diesel at .125 be accepted. Seconded by Councilman Smith and carried.
The Manager was instructed to contact the Peninsula Fuel and McMehan Fuel to ascertain if they would approve
sharing delivery of }' S 300 Fuel Oil at 09~ and enter into an agroement i.f\:.acceptable to both Companies.
Bids to furnish two Police Patrol Sedans were received as follows:
Lannoye Motor Company,
$3,900.00, Net.
Schreiner Chevrolet Co., $3,965.66, Net.
It was movod by Councilman Smith that the offer by Lannoye Motor Co. be accepted. SecolIied by Councilman
Maxfield alIi carried.
Under the heali of new business, the City Treasurer informsd in writing that sale of Lots 1 to 13, !nolo,
IUock 450, Townsite, by publication of call for bids has been re'iuested. It was moved by Councilman Smith
that call for bids be published for the sale of said Lots, miniJllum to be $219.01 per Lot. Motion .
seconded by Councilman Caldwell and carried.
Wallace Smith requested in 19I'iting, that the City pay for Lot 1, Block 446t, 'lOhich was previously purchased
from him. The Manager will contact Mr. Smith regarding request and report at a later date.
I Claims payable were approved in amounts as follows: General :funis, $1,774.96. Water FWd, $1,167.77.
j LightF\lnd, $2,440.30. It was moved by Councilman Randall that claims 00 approved and paid. Seconded tv

It was moved by councilman Smith that the Manager be authorized to publish call for bids to furnish 62
concrete street light basss. Seconded by Councilman Maxfield and carried.
Larry Lahr informed in writing that he will pay $3.00 per cord far Red fir pulpwnod if pennitted to remove
the wood from City property at the lower Elwha. It was moved by Councilman Maxfield that offer be accepted
contingent upon approval by the Engineer's Department. SecolIied by Councilman Randall and carried.
Councilman Smith inquired as to method of checking street lights and cited complaints of negligence in
replacing the same. It was understood that Patrolmen have been checking and reporting any street lights
being 'out and will continue to do the same in the future.
Under the head of introduction and reading of Ordinances, the following were introduced and read in full:
ORDINANCE NO. 1429
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Angeles making transfers within the 1958 Dudget.
It was moved by Councilman Thorne that the foregoing Ordinance be approved and adopted. Seconded tv
Councilman Caldwell am carried.
ORDINANCE NO. 1450
AN ORDINANCE pertaining to hotels, motels, rooming houses and lodging houses, and providing for the
licensing of the same and amending Section 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67 and 68 of Ordinance No. 971.
John Selby, of All _ View Motel and Chairman of Hotel ani Motel Association, inouired as to the need for
such Ordinance. The Mayor advised that Ordinance is to regulate and collect fe~, thereby establishing
equality.
It was moved by councilman Caldwell that the Ordinance be passed first reading. Seconded by Councilman
Sandison and carried.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
