Roll call showed the following officers present; Mayor Davis, Commission- ers Lutz and Masters, ~ttorney Plummer and.Clerk Hawkins. Under the head of New Business,- The following resolution was introduced,- RESOLUTION TRANSFER OF BUDGST ITEMS VffiEREAS, because of reduction in cost of street gravel the ~treet ~epartment will not require the fUll amount budgeted for this item for the year of 1934, and VffiEREAS by exchange of the street maintenance trucks for new and efficient equipment, the expense of graveling streets can be sharply reduced and amounts which were bud- geted for and would have been used for truc~ repairs and tires can be applied to the replacement of used trucks with new equipment, thus effecting a saving in the opera- tion of street maintenance over a period of years, \mE&~AS to complete the GMchange,after applying the value of the used trucks, and the balance of the budget for new equipment the sum of ~460 must be transferred fro~ the item of "graveling streets" to other items, namely "tires" and "equipment repairs" so that the same may be applied in part to the purchase of the said eq1i.ipment BE IT RESOL~D That for the purpose o~ completing the exchange of the old equipment and turning it in on the purchase of new equipment, thereby increasing the efficiency of ~he department at a reduction in cost, the sum of ~460;00 be deducted from the item "graveling streets" and added as follows; ~300.00 to "equiilpment repair"; $160.00 to IltiresIl. This resolution is adopted for the purpose of using a portion of the sum to be saved on street graveling and labor by use of new equipmGn~, for the purpose of completing the payment for thc SQid equipment through warrants charged to said items on the mainte- nance fund. It was ~oved'by Uommissioner Masters that the foregoing resolution be adopted. Seconded by vommissioner Lutz. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor de- clared the motion c~rried. The matter of the purchase of trucks for the street department was taken up and on the recommendation of City Engineer Dodge, Commissioner Masters moved that 2 trucks be purchased from V.A.Samuelson & Co. ,as follows,- 1 Ford V-8 Truck,157 ~heel-base 1 Ford V-8 Truck 131t Wheel-base ~1l85.00 1078.00 2263.00 309.00 1954.00 Less Trade in,- 1 1923 Chevrolet Truck 1 1928 Graham Truck 50.00 259.00 Balance Both of said new trucks to be eguiped with Dual wheels,closed.cabs and hydraulic dump bodies. Motion seconded by Commissioner Lutz. On roll call all members voted aye. the Mayor declared the motion carried. There being no further business the commission then adjourned.
