Roll Call of Officers showed the following present: Acting-Mayor Steele, COUJl1issioner Johnson, Attorney Wilson and Cle rk Law. The Minutes of the previous session were read and approved. Under the head of applications for building permits, the following were granted, Stanley 'Gustafson Build .7 room dwelling on Lot 8-9 of Blk 2 Williams & Cramer Addition Add 1 room to house on Lot 16, Blk 5 of Sub of Lot 17 $6500 .00 250.00 Eenn E. Sommerville Build work shop & front porch on Lot 5-4, Blk 1 of Cain's 21 Under the head of Reading and Passage of Ordinances, the following Ordinance passed third and final read- ing: ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE fixing the monthly salaries, compensation and wages of certain Officers and employ- ees of the City of Port Angeles, Washington. It was moved by Commissioner Johnson that the foregoing Ordinance be approved and finally adopted. Sec- onded by Commissioner Steele. On Roll Call all members voted Aye. The Acting-Meyor declared the motion carried. Under the head o,f Reports from City Officers: Madge H. Nailor, City Treasurer; presented the following: To the Honorable Mayor & City Commissioners of the City of Port ,Angeles, Wash. Januery 16, 1946 Gentlemen: As required by law, I hereby designate the First National Bank and the Olympic State Bank, both of this city, as depositories of all city monies for the year 1946, subject to your approval. RespectfullY , MADGE H. NAILOR City Treasurer Under the head of New Business: bids to furnish gasoline to the City Departments were opened. It was decided to accept hids as of previous year, all companies delivering at lowest bid and alternating deliv- eries. In regard to transfer of property contracts, tha following were read: Harry M. Moore and Lillian H. Moore, having transferred their interest in Lots 12 and 15, Block 210, Town- site, to James H. Lindley, request in writing, that when all payments on said property are completed that the deed to said property be issued to the said James H. Lindley. J. M. Davis, having transferred his interest in Lots 15, Blk 56, Townsite, to Hugh Govan, requests in 'I writing that when all payments on said property are completed, that the deed to said property be issued to tha said Hugh Govan. There being no objections, the Commission instructed that the above requests be granted. i Murray Randall and others, representing the Rayonier, Inc., appeared before the Commission regarding the 1 hazard to pedestrians on the North Ennis Street hill and requested the Commission to consider the con- " struction of a pedestrian side walk. After due consideration, it was decided that the Commission would I consult the City Engineer and Rayonier officials in regard to the matter and that no action would be post- , paned,. II A petition signed by H. W. Davies of the Port of Port Angeles and C. V. Basom of Fibreboard, Inc. was [I brought before the Commission petitioning the Commission to vacate portions of certain streets and alleys. '[ I After due consideration, the following resolution was introduced, fixing the time of hearing said petition;, RES 0 L UTI 0 N . The Port of Port Angeles, a municipal corporation, with its boundaries coextensive with the boundaries of C1allam County, and the Fibreboard PrOducts, Inc., a corporatJ.on, having filed herein their petition praying for the vaoation of the following streets and alleys in the City of Port Angeles, to-wit: That portion of Railroad Avenue extending from the West line of "E" Street to the West line of Lot'Six (6) in Block One Hundred Seventeen (117) of the Townsite and Block Twelve (12) of Tidelands West of Laurel Street. That portion of "E" Street extending from the Northerly line of Marine Drive, or Third St reet, to the Inner Harbor Line. That portion of "D" Street extending from the North line of l~rine Drive, or Third Street, and the Inner Harbor Line, and lying between Blocks Ten (10) and Eleven (11) of Tidelands West of Laurel Street. That portion of "C" Street North of the alley and between the Northerly half of Blocks One Hundred Five (105) and One Hundred Ten (110) of the Townsite of Port Angeles, and that portion of "c" Street North of the North line of Third Street, or 11arine Drive, and extending to the Inner Harbor Line, and lying between Blocks Nine (9) and Tell (10) of Tidelands West of Laurel Street. That portion of liB" Street lying between Blocks One Hundred Three (105) and One Hundred Five (105) of the Townsite and North of the North line of the alley running through said Blocks, ~d South of Marine Drive, or Third ::itreet. That portion of the alley in Block One Hundred Four (104) of the Townsite and lying Westerly of the right of way of the Chicago, Milwaukee, ::it. Paul and Pacific Railroad. That portion of Second Street extending from the Westerly line of the Chicago, Mil- waukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad right of way and Tumwater Creek water way. That portion of the alley in Block Thirty-eight (58) of the Townsite extending from the Westerly line of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad right of way and "A" street vacated. That portion of First Street extending from the WesterlY line of Turnwater Street to the Inner Harbor Line, and lying between Block Nine (9) ,of Tidelands West of Laurel Street and Block Thirty-eight (58) of the Tmvnsite of Port Angeles. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Port Angeles that Vlednesday, the 15th day of February, 1946, at the hour of 10:00 a.m. of said date, be and the same is hereby fixed for the date I of the, hearing on said petition, said hearing to be held in the Commissioners room of the Fire Hall at Third and Lincoln Streets in the City of Port Angeles. It was moved by CommiSSioner Johnson that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by Commissioner Steele. On roll call all members voted Aye. The Acting~illyor decLared the motion carried. Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions, the following were introduced: RESOLUTION I II i WHEREAS, the City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired the' same by Treasurer's Deed dated December :<0, 1945, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9595 of I Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 145 of the Laws of 1929, page 565, to-wit: ,I' West One-half (t) of Lot Twelve (12), Block Six (6), Puget Sound Cooperative Colony's Subdivision of the TOIIDsite, Port Angeles, W.T.; and I I WHEREAS, Herman C. W. Reetz has offered to purchase from the City or Port Angeles the above described real I property for the sum of $75..00';. and "WHEREAS, the City Collllliesion has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair , value and that at this tL-ne it is the best interest of the City that it should be accepted and the sale I made; now THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the said offer be accepted and the City of Port Angeles sell the said prop- I erty at private sale to the said Herman Co. W. Reetz. for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to any valid I : liens against the same; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit cLaim deed conveying said I II property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the City of Port Angeles be and he is hereby instruc- : ted to execute said quit claim deed and that tha Mayor of the City of Port Angeles be and he is hereby in- ' structed to countersign said quit cLainl deed when the purchase price and all accrued interest thereon has been plid in full. RESOLUTION I, 'I WHEREAS, the City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired the same by Treasurer's Deed dated January 10, 1946, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9595 of Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 145 of the Laws of 1929, page 565, to-wit: Lots Eleven (ll) to Twenty (20) inclusive, in Block One Hundred Forty-nine (149) of the Townsite of Port Angeles, Washington; and "WHEREAS, Dan Lakie has offered to purchase from the City of Port Angeles the above described real property ! for the sum of SWO in cash upon the delivery of a deed from said City; and I' WHEREAS, The City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair value and is in excess of the amount paid by the City for said property, plus all t.LD. assessments, in- cluding the interest and other charges against the same; now I THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port tngeles sell the said property at private sale to the said Dan Lakie for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to any other valid liens against the same; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed conveying said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the City of Port Angeles be and he is hereby instruc- ted to execute said quit claim deed and that the Mayor of the City of Port Angeles be and he is hereby in- structed to countersign said quit claim deed when the purchase price and all accrued interest thereon has ,been paid in full. Bond and Georgia M. Bond, his wife, for the sum herein- above set forth, subject to any other valid liens against the same; that the City Attorney be instruc- ted to prepare a quit claim deed oonveying said property to the purchasers and that the City Clerk of the City of Port Angeles be and he is hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of the City of Port Angeles be and he is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed. C. Baker's Subdivision of the TOII'IlSi te of Port Angeles, Ylashingt~n; and 'WHEREAS, George Paulon has offered to purchase from the City of Port Angeles the above'described real property f~r the sum of $BOO in cash upon the delivery of a deed from said City; and 'WHEREAS, the City Ccmmission has viewed too said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair I value and that at this time it is to the best interest of the City that it should be accepted and the sale :made; now THEREFOHE,' BE 11' RESOLVED that the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the said property at private sale to the said George Paulon for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to any other valid liens against the same; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed conveying said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the City of Port Angeles be and he is hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed and that the Mayor of the City of Port Angeles be and he is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed. RES 0 L UTI 0 II WHEREAS, the City of Port Angeles is the owner of the follOll'ing described real property, having acquired ,the same by Treasurer's Deed dated December 19, 1945, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9595 of Hemington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 145 of the Laws of 1929, page 565, to-wit: Lot Fourteen (14) in Block One Hundred Twenty-nine (129) of D. W. Morse Subdivision of the To.msite of Port Angeles, Washington; and WHEREAS, Orpha W. Winter has offered to purchase from tha City of Port Angeles the above described real property for the sum of $175.00, payable as follows: $20.00 as a down payment and the balance of $155.00 ,payable $15.00 on or before the lOth day of February, 1946, and $15.00 on or before the 10th day of each :and every month thereafter until paid in full. Interest at the rate of 7% per annum is to be computed : monthlY on the halance due and paid with the monthlY installment; and IIWHEREAS, the City Comission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair value ani is in excess of the amount paid by the City for said property, plus all L.I.D. assessments, including interest and other charges against the same; now THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the said cffer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the said property at private sale to the said Orpha W. Winter for the surr, hereinabove set forth, subject to any other valid liens against the same; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed conveying said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the City of Port Angeles be and he is hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed and that the Mayor of the City of Port Angeles be ,and he is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed, when the purchase price and all accrued interest thereon has been paid in full. i , It was moved by Conmissic,ner Johnson that the five foregoing resolutions be approved and adopted. Seconded! by Commissioner Steele. On roll call, all members voted JAye.
