The Com~ssion met in regular session at 10 A.M. and was called to order by Mayor Davis. Roll call
showed the following officers present: Mayor Davis, Commissioners Henson and Masters, Attorney Conniff
and Clerk'Hawkins.
The minutes of the previous session were read and approved.
Under the" headof Building Permits and licenses the following were granted:
steve Merrill, Construct Garage, Lot 7, Elk. 74, townsite
Cecil Owen, Construct Residence, Lot 6, Elk. 106, E. Crm< Baker's Subd.
Sig Larson, Addition to Rooms, Lot 1, Blk. 54, N.R. Smith Subd.

Under the head of New Business,-
A petition signed by Andy Salkovic a;J d others asking the City to extend the water system into Gales
Addition adjoining the City on the east was read and referred to Superintendent of Utilities.
Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the following resolution was introduced:
RESOlllTION
w]JEREAS, the City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired
the same b,' Treasurer's Deed, dated August 2, 1957, under and by virtUe of the authority of Section 9593
of Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 145 of the Laws of 1921, page 365, to-wit:
All of Let Twenty-one (21) and the west 20 feet of Lot Twenty-two(22), Block One (1),
Cain's Subdivision of Suburban Lot Eighteen (18) of the Townsite of Port Angeles,
Clallam County, Washington, and,
WlJEREAS, Lewis H. ~ith has offered to purchase from the City of Port Angeles the above described real
property for the sum of $220.00, payable as follows: $25.00 down payment, leaving a balance of $195.00
to be paid in monthly installments of $15.00 each. The first payment to be made on the first day of
March, 1939, and $15 .00 on or before the first day of each and every month thereafter until the said
$195.00 has been paid in full, together with interest on monthly balances at the rate of 7% per annum, and
WlJEREAS, the City Commissicners have viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is
fair value and is in excess of the amount paid by the City for said property, plus all L.l.D. assessments,
including interest and other charges against the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the
said property at private sale to the said Lewis H. Smith for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to
any other valid liens against the same; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim
deed conveying said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the City of Port Angeles be and
he is hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of theCity of Port Angeles be
and he is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed, when the purchase price and all accrued
interest thereon has been paid in full.
It was moved by" Commissioner Henson" that the foregoing resolution be adopted. Seconded by Commissioner
Masters. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
Under the head of Reading and Passage of Ordinances the following ordinance was read by title and placed
on its third reading and adopted:
AN ORDINANCE fixing the salaries, compensation and wages of certain officers and employees of the City
of Port Angeles, Washington.
It was moved by Commissioner Henson that the foregoing ordinance be placed on its final reading and
adopted. Seconded by Commissioner Masters, On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the
motion carried.
The Commission examined and allowed the following claims and ordered warrants drawn for same:
