II ROLL CALL I Members Present: Mayor Whidden, Councilmen Gerberding, Hordyk, Quast, Schermer, Stamon. Members Absent: Councilman Haguewood. Staff Present: Attorney Knutson, R. Saville, S. Pittis, R. Orton, L. Danks, A. Rollins, K. Niemi, R. Dickinson. Public Present: F. McPhee. III - VI - SUSPENDED Prior to entering into the agenda items, Finance Director Orton informed the Council that the Department of Fisheries was considering closing sports fishing in Punch Card Areas 5 and 6, which is Port Angeles Harbor and West Sekiu, and that there was to be a public hearing on the issue March 2, 1985. VII LEGISLATION l. Status Report on the City's Data Processing System Finance Director Orton introduced the Data Processing Division Staff: Lois I Danks, Andrea Rollins, Karen Niemi, Roberta Dickinson. He then reviewed with the Council the 1984-85 Data Processing budget. The Council then discussed with staff the Data Processing operation, the staffing of the Division, and the reasons for implementing this Data Processing system. Finance Director Orton discussed with the Council the Data Processing budget of Port Angeles compared to data processing operations in other cities. Frank McPhee noted that the Data Processing budget had increased after 1982. Finance Director Orton explained the Data processing budget was budgeted in two areas in 1982; that a portion had been budgeted in Revenue Sharing. He stated this had been discontinued and that the entire budget was now budgeted out of the General Fund because it was an on-going expense. Data Processing Manager Lois Danks explained some of the technical aspects of the Data Processing operation. Finance Director Orton then reviewed with the Council the Data Processing plan for 1985, 1986 and 1987, which outlines the operations that will be implemented in the Data Processing Division during those years. Finance Director Orton and the Data processing staff then provided demon- strations to the Council of the Data processing operation. VIII - IX - SUSPENDED . Mayor Whidden adjourned the meeting to executive session at 8: 53 P. M. for the purpose of discussing litigation. I X ADJOURN TO EXECUTIVE SESSION XI RETURN TO OPEN SESSION The meeting returned to open session at 9:43 P.M.
