Roll call showed the following officers present: Mayor Davis, Commissioner Henson, Attorney Conniff and Clerk Hawkins. The minutes of the previous session were read and approved. Police Judge, Thos. Ceisness, reported 72 cases tried and $589.00 collected in fines for the month of January, 1959. Report ordered filed. Under the head of Applications for Building Permits the following was granted: Haugen Sheet Metal Works, Construct Marque, W! of Lot 5, Elk. 1, Tidelans West of Laurel St. $200.00 The following application for amusement game license was allowed: The "Dew Drop Inn", Location License 12.00 Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the following resolution Was intrlilduced: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, The City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired the same by Treasurer's deed dated March 8, 1957, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9595 of Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 145 of the Laws of 1929, Page 565, to-wit: Lot 18, Block 1, Cain's Subdivision of Suburban Lot 18, according to plat thereof recorded in Volume 2 of Plats, page 68, records of said county, together with all the vacated alley adjoining said lot on the west, and WHEREAS; Ole Swindland and Jessie Swindland, husband and wife, have offered to purchase the above describ-' ed real property from the City of Port Angeles, for the sum of $200.00, and, WHEREAS, The amount offered for the above described real property is in excess of the amount paid by the City for said property, plus all 1.l.D. assessments including all interest and other charges against the same, and, WHEREAS, The City Commission has viewed the said property and is value. of the opinion that the offer is fair NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the said property at private sale to the said Ole Swindland and Jessie .Swindland, husband and wife, for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to any other valid liens against the same; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quitclaim deed conveying said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the City of Port Angeles be, and he is hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of said City be, and he is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed. It was woved by Commissioner Henson that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by Mayor Davis. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried. Under the head of New Business,- Mrs. Erma Horstman's term as a member of the Library Board having expired, the Mayor subnitted her name for reappointment e.S a member of the Library Board. It was moved by Commissioner Henson that the foregoing appointment be confirmed. Seconded by Mayor Davis. On roll call all members voted a~-e. The Mayor declared the motion carried. The City Clerk was instructed to issue a call for bids for the following p'J.rchases: For the purchase of Municipal Fire Alarm equipment, as follows: 1 - Central office unit complete, Gamevrell Vitaguard control unit or equal. 10 - Street boxes, Gamewell Vitaguard alarm box, non-interferring type or equal. 10 - Street boxes, Gamewell Vita guard three-fold successive type box or equal. These boxes are to be mastered later. 80,000 feet - #12 ~wg Copperweld triple braid weatherproof wire or equal. Bids to be received by the City Clerk until February 15, 1959, at 10 a.m. and not later. For the purchase of One (1) 650 Gallon Oil Distributor designed for mounting in 3 yard Dump Truck Body. Bids to be received by the City Clerk until February 2B, 1959, at 10 a.m. and not later.
