The Commission met in regular session at 10 A.M. and was called to order by Mayor Beetle. Roll Call
showed the following officers present: Mayor Beetle, Com:nissioners Beam and Lind, Attorney Conniff and
Clerk Hawkins.
The minutes of the previous session were read and approved.
Under the head of Applications for Building Permits the following were granted:
F. A. Hazen, Remodel House, Lot 4, Block 272, Townsite
Don & Ivor Smith, Build Ice Storage Vfarehouse, Lot 14, Block 232, 'fownsite
C. M. St. P. & Pacific R.R., Enlarge Office, Lot 9, Block 1, N. R. Smith Subd.

Police Judge, W. F. Phillips, reported 54 cases tried and $515.00 collected in fines for the month of
January, 1942. Report ordered filed.
Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the following resolution was introduced:
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City of Port Ange les is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired
the same by Treasurer's Deed, dated July 18, 1940, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9595
of Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 143 of the Laws of 1929, page 365, to-wit:
Lots One (I), Two (2) and 1nree (5), Block One Hundred ~ronty-one (121) of Thomas
W. Carter's Subdivision of Suburban Lots 11 and 16, Port Angeles Townsite, and
WHEREAS, Hugh Govan has offered to purchase the above described real property from the City of Port
Angeles, for the sum of $600.00 and agrees not to excavate said lots below the existing grade of First
Street in front of the LotsJ and
WHEREAS, The City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the oplm.on that the offer is fair
value and is in excess of the amount paid by the City for said property, plus all L.r.D. assessments,
inclUding interest and other charges against the same,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RZSOLVED that the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the
said property at private sale to the said Hugh Govan for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to any
other VRlid liens against the same; that the City ~ttorney be instructed to prepare R quit claim deed
conveying said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the City of Port ~ngeles be and he is
hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of the City of Port Angeles be and
he is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed.
rt was moved by Commissioner Beam that the foregoing resolution be a~proved and adopted. Secended by
Commisaioner Lind. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayer declared the motion carried.
The Commission examined and allowed the following claims and ordered warr"nts drawn for same:
