The City Council met in regular session at 7:30 p.m. Officers present were Mayor Willson, Council-
imen Maxfield, Thorne, Cornell, Wolfe, Bettger and Schroeder, Manager Herrman, Attorney Moffett and
'Clerk McNeece.

A motion was made by Councilman Wolfe, seconded by Councilman Bettger and carried, that minutes of
Ithe previous meeting be approved as received.
A motion was made by Councilman Maxfield, seconded by Councilman Wolfe and carried, to refer the
bids for the Industrial Type Backhoe to the City Manager, Engineer and Water Superintendent for
study and recommendation at the next meeting.
A motion was made by Councilman Wolfe, seconded by Councilman Schroeder and carried, that permissio

vouchers in total amount of $35,588.90 and payroll transfers in amount of $35,030.75 be approved
for payment.
The following ordinance was read in full:
ORDINANCE NO. 1555
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Angeles repealing certain sections of the
Code of the City of Port Angeles with reference to gambling and enacting
a new ordinance with reference to the same subject.
A motion was made by Councilman Maxfield and seconded by Councilman Thorne that the foregoing
ordinance be adopted as read.
After discussion Councilman Wolfe moved that the motion be amended to delete Section 9C. Councilma.
Cornell seconded this motion. On called vote on the amendment, Councilman Wolfe and Cornell voted
"Aye", Councilmen Schroeder, Maxfield, Bettger and Thorne voted "opposed". Motion lost.
On called vote on the motion to adopt the ordinance as read, Councilmen Thorne, Bettger, Maxfield
and Schroeder voted "Aye", Councilmen Cornell and Wolfe voted "opposed". Motion passed.
The following resolutions were introduced and read in full:
RESOLUTION NO. 1-65
A RESOLUTION providing for the transfer of $20,000.00 from the Current Expense
Fund to the Library Fund for Maintenance and Operation, by way of a loan re-
payable as soon as funds are available from tax returns.

!that the foregoing resolution be passed.
RESOLUTION NO. 2-65

I A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of Port Angeles approving an
Annexation Petition.
'A motion was made by Councilman Maxfield, seconded by Councilman Thorne and unanimously carried,
Ithat the foregoing resolution be passed.

IA motion was made by Councilman Schroeder, seconded by Councilman Bettger and unanimously
'that parking be eliminated on the E. side of Chase Street between First St. and the alley
First Street, and that angle parking be instituted on the west side of Schase St. between
and the alley north of First Street.
IA motion was made by Councilman Wolfe, seconded by Councilman Bettger and carried, to accept the
Fire Dept. report, and to defer action on the Budget Report of Expenditures to give time for study
lof same.
~A motion was made by Councilman Wolfe, seconded by Councilman Maxfield and
'go on record as opposing Senate Bill No. 112, eliminating future volunteer
:retirement pension, and that a letter to this effect be sent to Washington
ITalley.
Mr. Haynes presented to the Council his plan for a trailer court on East Front St.
Other subjects of discussion were the traffic conditions at various intersections, a trailer parked I
on Francis St. and the City Manager reported that the city ordinances are being studied as requeste,
by the Council.
