I' The Commission met in regular session at 10:00 a .m. and was called to order by Mayor Epperson. Roll Call
I shmved the following Officers present: Mayor Epperson, Commissioners Steele and Johnson, Attorney Wilson
I: and Clerk law.
The Minutes of the previous session were read and approved.

I Under the head of New BuSiness, a delegation representing the Washington and Jefferson P.T.A., Altruistic 'I
, Club and City Council P.T.A. spoke before the Commission concerning juveniles and curfew. Police Chief Ide'
requested a section of Ordinance regarding minor delinquency be read, and expressed his opinion that re-
I sponsibility was wi th parents as much as police. The Commission were meeting with the Ccunty Commissioners'
at 1:50 p.m. regarding the same and expressed willingness to work with all organizations. I
" Mr. Faussett appeared before the Commission regarding bus stops are. requested better accommodations for
, passengers. I
I. Lou Kiszak of the Port Angeles Transit Company admitted receiving many phone calls in regard to the changee
made in schedules and bus stops. Commissioner Steele inforned that ch'lnges were made to relieve traffic i
and parki,ng difficulties.
A Petition signed by E. G. Lowry and others to vacate the Plat of Virginia Parle & Terrace, being a subdiv- '
ision in lots and blocks of ten acre tract No. 12, Goverrunent Townsite Reserve, was presented to the Com- 'I
mission. It was moved by Conunissioner Johnson that the City Attorney draw resolution setting time and ,
place of hearing of said petition; seconded by COlllllissioner Steele. On roll 'call all members voted Aye. I'
The Mayor declared the motion carried.
A petition signed by Nals M. Sutherland and others was presented requesting the City to open streets around 'I
Block BB4 of the To.msite, and alley through said block. It was moved by Commissioner Johnson that the I
I Commission investigate said property and refer to the Engineer; seconded by Commissioner Steele. On roll .
, call all members voted Aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried. I
; Police Judge' Stanley Taylor reported 64 cases tried and $951.50 collected in fines for-the month of Jan-
uary, 1946. Report ordered filed.

I The City Clerk was instructed to call for bids for the sale of one (1) safe, bids to be opened February 20, !

Under the head of Unfinished Business: Attorney Severyns appeared for the Port Angeles Boat Club in regard 1
to lease on Ediz Hook and was advised to draw up new lease between the Boat Club and the City for fifteen
years, with option and prior rights at end of term, to be presented at next session. .
I Under the head of Introduction of Ordinances, the following Ordinance was introduced for first and second

I AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 971 of the City of Port Angeles adopted by the City Commission on I
the 6th day of April, 1932, and providing for the licensing of certain occupations, vocations, trades and :11
vehicles. ,
It was moved by Commissioner Johnson that the foregoing Ordinance be approved and adopted as amended and
passed first. and second reading; seconded by Mayor Epperson. On roll call all members voted Aye. The
/.layor de elared the motion carried.
At this time, the bids for the purchase of one full diesel traxcavator and Hyster D4 tractor donkey were
,opened. It was moved by Commissioner Johnson that action be postponed to next session for further consid-
eration; seconded by Conunissioner Steele. On roll call all members voted Aye. The Mayor declared the
mction carried.
l'he one bid of three dollars by Leone Mann, Clallam County Librarian, for two walnut frames, to be matching
in size and style, was opened. It was moved by Commissioner Johnson that the bid be accepted; seconded by
Commissioner Steele. On roll call all members voted Aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried. :

by Commissioner Steele that the foregoing Resolutions be approved and adopted; seconded by

WHEREAS, the occupants of the buildings abutting the locations hereinafter described have consented to
parking privileges for cabs and busses at said locations; and
1'illEREAS, for the purpose of improving parking facilities it is desirable to fix and limit parking areas
for taxi cabs and busses;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the following areas be set aside for the parking of taxi cabs and
bus ses in the City of Port Angeles:
I
1. On the South side of Front Street, immediately west of the intersection with Laurel Street,
there shall be allotted to Red's Taxi Company, space for parking one cab parallel to the curb and one
additional cab at a forty-five degree angle immediately west of theparallel stand.
2. On the West side of laurel Street, illlllediately mrth of its intersection with First Street, there
shall be allotted to the Yellow Cab Company, a space for two cabs parked parallel to the curb.
3. On the South side of Front Street, immediately west of its intersection with Lincoln Street,
there shall be allotted to the City Cab Company, space for parking one cab at a forty-five degree angle.

4. On the North side of Front Street, irrmediately east of the east driveway entering Hooker's
Storage Garage, there shall be allotted to the Black and White Cab Company, space for parking one cab
parallel to the curb and immediately east of said stand, space for parking one additional cab at a forty-
five degree angle.
5. On the South side of Front Street, immediately east of the pedestrian cross walk established in
the center of the block between Laurel and Lincoln streets, there is allotted to Lou Kiszak, operating
the City Transit Company, space for parking, for purposes of loading and unloading passengers, 'two City
busses, parallel to the curb.
It was moved by Commissioner Johnson that the foregoing Resolution be approved and adopted; seconded by
Commissioner Steele. On roll call all members voted Aye. The ~yor declared the motion carried.
