HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 02/10/1987680 I CALL TO ORDER CITY COUNCIL /COUNTY COMMISSIONER MEETING Port Angeles, Washington February 10, 1987 Mayor Whidden called the special meeting to order at 4:10 P.M. The purpose of the special meeting was to continue discussion of the cooperative approach to providing governmental services. II ROLL CALL Members Present: Mayor Whidden, Councilmen Hallett, Hesla, Quast, Schermer, Stamon. Members Absent: Councilman McPhee. Staff Present: Manager Flodstrom. County Commissioners Present: Commissioner Jones, Commissioner Duncap,( Commissioner Gaydeski. III VI SUSPENDED VII LESIGLATION The Council, Manager Flodstrom, County Commissioners, and County Adminis- trative Coordinator Rumpeltes, discussed individual committee meetings of the groups addressing Law Enforcement, Human Services, Health Services, and Railroad Property Acquisition. Commissioner Duncan reported that the Law Enforcement Committee had deter- mined that Joint Dispatch was the first priority they would address. She announced that decisions would be made by concensus and that the next meeting was scheduled for February 18, 1987, at 3:30 P.M. Councilman Hesla reported that established operating procedures and a structure of Human Services County Human Services Director. February 19, 1987, from 4:00 P.M. the Health Services Committee had also and would receive an overview of services funding sources from Carol Owens, Clallam He announced the next meeting would be to 5:30 P.M. Both groups have invited Forks and Sequim to participate. Councilman Stamon reported on the Health Services Committee. This group had also established operating procedures and priorities as follows: (1) Solid Waste /Septage; (2) Health Services; (3) Toxic Waste; and has extended an invitation to Sequim and Forks to participate. Commissioner Jones then reported that he and Mayor Whidden had met twice regarding Railroad Property Acquisition. He reported on the status of that project and the goal to preserve rail service if possible, or preserve the corridor for benefit in terms of utilities, recreatison, and certain aspects of transportation. He stated he would prepare a press release for February 23rd, providing the City Council with the information prior to the press release.
