The l;ommission met in regular session at 10 a .m. and was called to order by Meyor Robinson. /(011 call.
showed the following officers present: ~ayor Robinson, Commissioners Beam and Masters, and Attorney
Johnston. "
The minutes of t he previous session were read and approved.
Under the head of Introduction of R~solutions the following resolutions were introduced:
RESOLUTION
WHERE~S, The City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired
the same by Treasurer's deed dated July 31, 1942, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9393
of Remington's Revised statutes, Chapter 143, of the Laws of 1929, page 365, to-wit:
Lot Eighteen (18), Block Two (2) of Aldwell's Subdivision of Suburban
Lot 35, Port "ngeJe s, Clallam County, ifasflington, and
WHER.~.S, George A. ~iller and Eertha ~iller, husband and wife, have offered to purchase the above
described real prop'rty fro"., the City of Port "ngoles for the sum of $50.00, and
WHER~.S, The City COITU.ission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair
value and is in excess ~f the amount paid by the City for said property, plus all l.I.D. assessments,
including interest and other charges again.,t the same.
Na~, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the said offer be accepted and that the City of Yort Angeles sell the
said property at private sale to the 5aid George A. Miller and Bertha Uiller, husband and wife, for the
sum hereinabove set. forth, subject to any other valid liens against the same; that the City Attorne"' be
instructed to prepare a quit claim deed conveying said pro~rty to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk
of Port Angeles be and he is hereby instructed to execute said wuit claim deed, and that the Mayor of the
City of Port Angeles be and h~ is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed.
It was moved by Corr.missioner lI,asters that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by
Commissioner Bea~. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mdyor declared the motion carried.
RESOlUTION
WHEREAS, Lhs City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real property, hav':ng acquired
the same by Treasurer's deed, dated April 19, 1940, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9393,
Chapter 143 of the Laws of 1929, to-wit:
Lot Fourteen (14), Block Three Hundred Forty-five (545), Townsite of
Port Angeles, Clallam County, Washington, and
WHEREAS, Wilfred E. Bowers has offered to purchase the above described real property from the City of Port
Angeles for the sum of $3CO.OO, payable as follows: $50.00 as a down payment and $10.00 on or before
March 16, 1943, and ~lO.OO on or ~efore the 16th day of each and every mcnth thereafter until paid in full,
together with interest on monthly balances at the rate of 7% per annum and paid with monthly installments,
and
WHEREAS, The City Co:nmission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair
value and that at this time it is to the best interest of the City that it shOuld be accepted and the sale
made.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said offer be accepted and that the City of Port ,Angeles sell the said
property at private sale to the sald Wilfred E. Bowers for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to any
other valid llens against the same: that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed
conveying said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the ~ity of Port Angeles be and r,e is
hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the fiayor of the City of Port Angeles be and
he is hereqy instructed to countersign said ~uit claim deed when the purchase price and RIl accrued
interest thereon has been ?aid in full.
It was moved by Commissioner !~sters that the forogoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by
Commissioner Beam. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
Under the head of New Business:
In the matter of the Petition of the United ,States of America for Vacation of certain streets and parts of
streets within the City of Port Angeles, Washington, was referred to the City Engineer and ~ty Attorney.
The question of sick leave and vacati,-ns oame up for discussion, After considering the matter it was laid
oVe~ for one week.
