The CorrillUssion met pursuant to adjournment at 10 A.M. and was called to order by Mayor Davis. Roll call
shmved the following officers present: Mayor Davis, Commissioner Henson, Attorney Conniff and Clerk
Hawkins.
The minutes of the previous session were read and approved.
Under the head of Applications for Building Pemits the fallowing were granted:
Riggs and Middleton, Construction of Residence, Lots 9 & 10, Block 42, N. R. Smith Subd.
Capt. Alex Harris, Repairs to House and addition, Lot 2, Block 15, Townsite
George II. Puckett, Constructi0n of Residence, Lots 7 & 8, Block 418, Townsite

The City Clerk reported that pursuant to published call, the following
bids for the purchase of one 650 gallon oil di5tributor designed for
mounting in a three-yard dump -truck body, were received:

The Bids were opened and referred to the City Engineer for checking and report back to the Commission.

appointed by the students of the Port Angeles schools to represent the students in the preparation and
pa.ssage of an ordinance relating to bicycles; regulating the purchase, sale and use thereof; providing
for the registration and the issua~ce and revocation of licenses; defining offenses and prescribing
penalties.
The committee took up for consideration Sub Sec. F of Section 5 of said ordinance as it was passed
on its first reading, and after discussion it was unanimously agreed and recommended to the City Com~ission
that Sub Sec. F of Section 5 of the said ordinance should be amended to read as follo'lls:
Sub Sec. F, Section 5, Riding Abreast:
No person shall ride or propel a bicycle abreast of any other person so riding or propelling a
bicycle on any of the streets of the City of Port Angeles.
Mayor Davis therefore on the recommendation of the above named committee moved that Sub SeC. F of
Section 5 be amended to read as follows: nUl Riding Abreast: No person shall ride or propel a bicycle
abreast of any other person so riding or propelling a bicycle on any of the streets of the City pf Port
Angcles ,n Seconded by Commissioner Benson. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the
motion carried.
Under the head of New lJusiness,-
The City Commission believing it to be to the best interest of the "ityof Port Angele. that that portion
of the Morse Creek Water Shed that lies within the Olympic National Forest, and that it should be included
in the new addition to the Olympi c National Park, in order to protect and preserve the timber along the
rugged valley and mountain side to prevent floods and erosion.
Therefore, it was moved by l~yor Davis that the Supt. of Utilities be instructed to write the
National Park Service and request that all of the Morse Creek Water Shed that lies within the Olympic
National Forest be included in the new addition to the Olympic National Park, Seconded by Commissioner
Henson. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
