Roll call showed the following officers present: Mayor Davis, Commissioners Henson and Masters, Attorney Conniff and Clerk Hawkins. The minutes of the previous session were read and approved. Under the head of Applications for Building Permits the following was granted. l~att Trickey, Addition to Home, Lots 5 o&. 6, Block 353, Townsite .100.00 Police Judge,Thos. Oeisness, reported 49 cases tried and $350.50 collected in fines for the month cf February, 1939. Report o,'dered filed. Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the following resolution was introduced: RESOtu1'ION WHERE~S, The City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired the-same by Treasurer's deed dated February 24, 1939, under and by virtue of Section 9593 of Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 143 of the Laws of 1929, page 365, to-wit: Lot 5, Block 256, "ownsi te of Port Angeles, Clallam County, Wasl,ington, AND WHEREAS, Hilary Catli has offered to purchase the above described real property fron the City of Port Angeles for the sum of $80.00, payable as follows: $10.00 cash and $5.00 on the 1st day of April, 1939, and $5.00 on or before the 1st day of each and every month therea.fter until paid in full, including interest on monthly balances at the rate of 7% per annum; and, WHEREAS, the amount offered for the above de5cribed real property is in excess of the amount paid by the said City for said property, plus all L. LD. a.ssessments including all interest and other charges against the same; and, WHEREAB, the City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair value, NOW, THERE,.ORE, BE IT RESCIlIVED that said offer be accepted and that the City of Port "ngeles sell the said property at private sale to the said Hilary Catli for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to any other valid liens against the same; that the City !futorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed conveying said property to the pUrchaser, and that the City Clerk of the City of Port Angeles be, and he is hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of said City be, and he is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed. It was moved by Commissioner Henson that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by Mayor Davis. On roll call all members voted aye. '!he Mayor declared the motiJln carried. Under the head of Reading and Passage of Ordinances the following ordinance was read by title and placed on its 2nd and 3rd readings and adopted. An ORDINANCE relating to bicycles; regulating tlte purchase, sale and use thereof; providing for the registration and the issuance and revocation of licenses; defining offenses and prescribing penalties. It wa s moved by Gommissioner henson that the foregoing ordinance be placed on its final reading and adopted. Seconded by Commissioner Masters. On roll call all members votad aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried. Under the head of N8YT Business,- The Natural Gas Corporation of Washington filed a claim for damages against the City of Port Angeles for damaging their pipe line while excavating a street near First and Chase Streets. Claim ordered filed. Dr. D. E. McGillivray, a member of the Park Board, being away from the City on a vacation and Commissioner Masters believing that the Park Board should have a full mem!:ership at all times, submitted the name of H. E. Dodge for appointment to act as a member of the Board during the absence of Dr. Mc!Oillivray. It was moved by Commissioner Henson that the for8goir~ appointment be confirmed. Seconded by Mayor Davis. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
