The Collllllission met in regular session at 10 A.M. and was called to order by J!a~r Robinson. Roll call
showed the following officers present: llayor Robinson, Commissioners Beam and llasters, ~
and Clerk Hawkins.
The minutes of the previous session were read and approved.
Under the head of Applications for Building Permits and Licenses the following were granted.
Claude Phifer, remodel store room, Lot 2, Block 16, Townsite
George R. Sather, remodel house, Lots 14 & 15, Block 197, Townsite
H. B. Lathrop, Second Hand Store
Pavilion Rink, Skating Rink from Jul;r 1, 1943 to June 30, 1944

Police Judge, W. F. Phillips, reported 83 cases tried and 1919.00 collected in fines for the month of
Februar;y, 1944. Report ordered filed.

RESOlUTION
WHEREAS, The Ci~ of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real proper~, heving acquired
the eame by Treasurer's deed dated February 2l, 1944, under and by virtue of tIE IIIthorit;r of Section 9393
of R8lIlington's Revises Statutes, Chapter 143 of t be: Laws of 191<9, page 365, to-wit:
The East l of tot Fifteen (15) and the West t of tot Sixteen (16), Block Twenty-
seven (27), of Norman R. Smith's Subdivision of the TOJmsite d: Port Angeles, Wsshington,
and
WHEREA!;, Delbert Justice has offered to purchase the above described real property from the Ci~ of Port
Angeles for the ~ um of $250.00, ao:!
WHEREAS, The City Commiee1on has viewed the said propert;r and is of the opinion that t he offer is fair
value and that at this time it is to the best interest to the city that it should be accepted and the
sala IlBde.
NOW, TliEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell tbe
said prolE r~ at private sale to the said Delbert Justice for the SUIII hereinabove set forth, subject to
any other valid liens against the same; that tbe City Attorney be instructed to prep;lre a quit claim deed
conveying said propert;r to the purchaser, and that .the City Clerk of the City of Port Angeles be and he is
hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the lIayor of the Ci~ of Port Angeles be and
he is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed.
It was moved b;r Commissioner !lasters that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded b;r
Mayor Robinson. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.

The bids were then turned over to 1he Ci~ f:ngineer for checking.
The Commission then adjourned to meet at 4:00 P.Il.

The Commission met purSuant to adjournment at 4:00 P.M. ~l members present.
The Colllll1ssion then ellll!Dined and checked the bids in detail for the purchase of pipe. The matter of
awarding the contracts for the pipe was continued until 8 P.Il.
The Commission met pursuant to adjournment at 8:00 P.Il.
: Tbe matter of further consideration of bids for the purchase of pipe came up. It was lllDved by Comiesioner
IIasters that Item 1 as hereinabove shown in the detail of bids, be awarded to John )!aneville & Co. Seconded
by Commiasioner Beam. On roll call all members voted aye . The lIayor declared the motion carried.
It was moved by Commissioner llasters that Items I< & 3 as hereinabove shown in the detail of bids, be
ll'II'arded to the Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Co. Seconded by Mayor Robinson. On roll call all members
voted aye. The IIayor declared the motion carried.
It was moved by Commissioner Masters that items 4 and 5 as hereinabove shown in the detaU of bids, be
awarded to the Rensslaer Valve Co. Seconded by lIa;ror Robinson. On roll call all members voted aye. The
M~or declared the motion carried.
There being no further business the Commission then adjourned.
