!IThe City Council met in regular session at 7:30 p.m. Officers present were Mayor Willson, Council-~I'
Imen Maxfield, Thorne, Cornell, Wolfe, Bettger' and Schroeder, Manager Herrman, Attorney Moffett, a~ti

A motion was made by Councilman Maxfield, seconded by Councilman Wolfe, and carried that the minute~
of March 2, 1967 be approved and placed on file.
A motion was made by Councilman Cornell, seconded by Councilman Maxfield and carried, to approve
Mill Creek Reservoir retained percentage payment to Del Guzzi Construction, Inc. in the amount of
$10,474.40.
A motion was made by Councilman Thorne, seconded by Councilman Maxfield and carried, to approve
I payment of $87.67 to CH2M for engineering serv~ces on the Booster Pump Station.
fA motion was made by Councllman Wolfe, seconded by Councilman Bettger and carried, to approve pay-
ment of $18,707.57 to CHzM for engineering services on Sanitary Sewerage System.

IA motion was made by Councilman Wolfe, seconded by Councilman Schroeder and carried, that claims
[in the amount of $28,013.19 be paid and payroll transfers in the amount of $41,408.16 be approved.

I The City Manager was authorized to negotiate with the City Light Department employees for wages
from April 1, 1967 to April 1, 1968.

No action was taken regarding authorization to purchase ~and from U. S. Government.
Discussion was held on the incinerator burning problem with no action taken. Councilman Schroeder
will investigate possible solutions agreeable to all concerned..
No action was taken On amending ordinances regarding dancing on Sundays as no problem exists.

A letter from the Public Power Council regarding a meeting to be hel~ March 29, 1967 at Wenatchee
was read. The City Manager or Light Superintendent was authorized to attend.

An invitation to the swearing in of Chairman of Pacific Northwest River Basins Commission was
I'read and acknowledged.

A letter from the March of Dimes Chairman was read and acknowledged. !
A motion was made by Councilman Cornell, seconded by Councilman Thorne and carried that a committeJ
be appointed by the Mayor, including the Mayor, to negotiate with the owners of the two properties I
known as Hollywood Beach and that, if in their opinion by the next Council meeting, they feel and
recommend that we start condemnation proceedings, they be started at that time.
Committee members appointed by the Mayor are Councilman Schroeder, Councilman Wolfe and Mayor Willson.
IThe Mayor will appoint a member o~ the real estate professlon who dld not partlcipate in the origi-
nal appraisal and possibly a flfth member later.
The Clty Manager reviewed tentative plans for layout of sewage treatment Slte whlch was followed
by discussion.
The City Manager reported that letters have been mailed to businesses on East First Street regarding
moving of business signs if the widening of East First Street is approved. The Manager will also
report at the next Council meeting when the hearing can be held.

I time extension of six months on a variance granted to George H. Stevens, 913 East 8th Street.

'A motion was made by Councilman Bettger, seconded by Councilman Cornell and carr~d, to approve a
time extension of six months on a variance granted to Priest Equipment Company for construction of
a nursing home on Bloeks 2 and 3, Campbell Addition.
A motion was made by Councilman Maxfield, seconded by Councilman Thorne, and carried to approve anl
iplace on file the Planning Commission minutes of March 7, 1967. !
IA motion was made by Councilman Maxfield, seconded by Councilman Bettger, and carried to approve I[
and place on file the Monthly reports of Budget Revenues, Expenditures, Equipment Rental Operating I'
I Statement, Fire, Light, Police, Muncipal Judge, Recreation, and Water Departments, Light and Water
IRevenues and Expenditures, Utilities Billing Report, and Treasurer's Monthly Report.
IUnder other business the Mayor proclaimed March 19-25, 1967 National Wildlife Week; the Canadian
IGovernment will have open house aboard the naval vessel S.'S. Beaver, which will be here May 1-4,
11967; Councilman Wolfe reported that at a County Courthouse Committee meeting he attended, it was
!proposed that a committee/not connected with the City or County, but at a law enforcement stand-
point, look into the City's proposal to house County prisoners.

A motion was made by Councilman Thorne, seconded by Councilman Bettger and carried, that the fore-
going ordinances be adopted as read.
Leroy uagger was advised that there is no ordinance prohibiting women wrestlers. I
