Proceedings of tbe City Commission of the City of Port Angeles, Wasbington

The Commission met in regular session at 10 a.m. and was called to order by Mayor Beetle. Roll call
showed the following officers present: Mayor Beetle, Conmissioners Beam and Lind, Acting Attorney Taylor
and Clerk Hawkins.
The minutee of t he previous session Were read and approved.
Under the head of Applications for Building Permits the following was granted:
Cliff Smith, Addition to residence, Lot 5, Block 198, Townsite
50.00
Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the following were introduced:

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The City of Port lMgeles is the owner of the following real property,
Iby Treasurer's deed dated March 18, 1940, under and by virtue of the authority
Revised Statutes, Chapter 145 of the Laws of 1929, page 565, to-wit:

WHEREAS, Rose E. Berry has offered to purchase the above described real property from the City of Port
Angeles for t he sum of $75.00, payable as follows: $10.00 as a down payment and $5.00 on or before the
12th day of April, 1940, and $5.00 on or before the 12th day of each am every month thereafter until paid
in full, together with interest at the rate of 7% per annum, computed on monthly balances due and paid
with the monthly installment, and
WHEREAS, The City COlllT,iasion has viewed the said property and ia of the opinion that tb.e offer is fair
value and is in excess of the amount paid by the City for said property, plus all L.LD. assessments,
including interest and otb.er charges against the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the
said property at private sale to the said Rose E. Berry for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to aIV
other valid liens against the same; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed con-
veying said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the City of Port Angeles be and he is
hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of the City of Port Angeles be and he
is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed when the purchase price and all accrued interest
has bee n paid in full.
It was moved by Commissioner Beam that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by
Commissioner Lind. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real propsrty, having acquired
the same by Treasurer's deed dated March 1, 1940, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9595 of
the Laws of 1929, page 565, to-wit:
lot Three (5), Block One Hundred Thirty-two (152) of Thomas W. Carter's
Subdivision of Suburban Lots II and 16, Port Angeles Townsite, and
WHEREAS, Arnold I. Olsen has offered to purchase the above described real property from the City of Port
Angeles for the Sllll1 of $75.00, and
WHEREAS, The City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair
I value and that at this time it is to the best interest of the City that it should be accepted and the sale
made.

I NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOllVED, That the said offer be ac'cepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the
I said property at private sale to the said Arnold I, Olsen for the sum hereinabove set forth, subjeot to any
',other valid liens against the same; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed

: Under the head of Unfinished Business:

I A lea,se, School District No.7 of Clallam County, with the City of 1'0rt Angeles, leasing to the City of
Port ~ngeles the followign described property: Lots 1 to 4 inclusive, and lots 11 to 20 inclusive, Block
591, Townsite of Port Angeles, Washington, came up for consideration.
It was moved tr,y COlllllissioner Beam that the Mayor and '"i ty Clerk execute the said lease on behalf of the
I City and that said property be used for Playfield and Park purposes. Seconded by Commissioner Lind. On
, roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
The Commission examined and allowed the following claim and ordered a warrant drawn for same:
