The Commission met in regular session at 10:00 A.M., and was called to order by }!qor Feeley. Officers
present were: }!qor Feeley, Commissioners Robinson and Tay-lor, ,Attorney Sevel'1ns and Clerk Law.
Minutes of the previous session were read and approved.
Under the head of applications for building pennits and licenses, the following were .granted:

Under the head of unfinished business, the Commission considered recommendations by the Park Board regarding'
sale of lots and adult and infant burials by the Welfare Department in Ocean View Cemetery. Also additionall
charge when steel or sectional concrete vault is used. It was moved by Commissioner Tay-lor that the
recommendations be filed and referred to the Park Superintendent until the next meeting. Seconded by
May.or Feeley. All voted Aye. Motion carried. .
The Park Board also requested approval of transfer in amount of $96.20 from Truck Item to New Equipment for
Improvement to Buildings and Grounds, both items in the Capital Outlay Classification of the Park Budget. '
It was moved by Commissioner Taylor that the request for transhr be approved. Seconded by Mayor Feeley.
All voted Aye. Motion carried.
Frank Fountain and .Waino Saari again appeared regarding approval and adoption of a resolution providing for
leasing by the Downtown Parking Assn. of parking lot on East, Front Street. The Commission was requested to
reconsider, as the bill concerning off-street parking did not pass the Legislature. Commissioner Taylor
questioned the item concerning cost of lighting and the City obligating itself for the same. Mr. Fountain
informed that facilities are already installed and satisfactol'1. Also that percentage to the City would
pay- for ligpting costs. Mr. Saari informed that operation of the parking lot is not for profit and the
only change in lease would give proper authority to eliminate all day- parking. After further discussion it
was moved by Mayor Feeley that the resolution providing for lease of the parking lot be approved aOO
adopted. Seconded by Commissioner Robinson. All voted Aye. Motion carried.
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, there was heretofore on the 2nd day- of Janual'1, 1946, a lease entered into by and between the City
of Port Angeles and the Down Town Parking Association, covering the East One-Half (E!) of Lots Six (6) and
the West Half (W~) of Lot Five (5) in Block One (1) of Tidelands East of Laurel Street in the City of
Port Angeles, for a period of twenty years; and,
WHEREAS, the Down TO>ll1 Parking Association desires that said lease be amended, and have presented to the
City Commission of the City of Port Angeles, a proposed lease; which lease will run for a period of twenty
years, commending Janu8l'1 2nd, 1951; and, it is proposed that the lessee pay- to th.e City a base rental of
$150.00 per year, plus twenty-five per cent (25%) on that portion of any net profit over &500.00 per year;
and,

WHEREAS, the Commission having fully considered said proposed lease and having discussed the natter i'rom
time to time and finding that it is for the best interest of the City of Port Angeles and the public
generally that said lease be executed, and finding that the terms are satisfactory; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OOMIHSSION OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES As follows:
That said lease as proposed and submitted be granted, and that the }!qor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized and directed to execute said lease on behalf of the City oi' Port Angeles.
"Under the head of new business, Frank Fisher, Jr., requested information regarding replacement or sidewalks
at 232 West Secon:l Street in front of Lots 9 and 10, Block 52. The matter was referred to the City Engineer.
Commissioner Taylor, reported concerning a letter from the State Highwa;y Department and a meeting regarding
Origin and Destination survey. It was understcod t.hat the date of meeting within the next two weeks will
be set by the Planning Commission and all interested in the survey are urged to attend.
It was moved by Commissioner Ta;ylor that bids be published aOO opened April 9th, i'or constructioh of a
building to house a chlorination pJa nt. llids will be for one story building as modified from original
specifications olesigllllil for three stOl'1 building. Motion seconded by Mayor Feeley. All voted Aye. Motion
carried.
The Commission considered construction of curbs and gutters on East First Street as provided by Ordinance
No. 1245. It was moved 'by Mayor Feeley that ciUl"i'or bids be published for the construction of curbs,
gutters and drivewa;ys from the East margin of Rae," Street to the West margin of Alder Street, bids to be
opened April 9th. Motion seconded by Commissioner' Taylor. All voted Aye. Motion carried.
