IThe Commissioners' meeting place at the Fire Department Building being under alteration
to increase space for the Police Department offices, the Commission met in the office of
'the Commissioner of ~treets and Public Improvements at the ~ity Building at 10 A.M. and
was called to order by Mayor Davis. Roll call showed the following officers present:
Mayor Davis, Commlssioners Henson and Masters, nttorney Conniff and Clerk Hawkins.
Under the head of Applications for Building Permits the following were granted:
Max Johnson, Remodel Building, Lot 13, Blk. 117, ~ownsite
Albert Strout, RemOdel House, Lot 9, Blk. 282, ~ownsite

Under the head of rleports from ~ity Officers the following was read:

To 'the 'Honorable Mayor and ~ity.Commission
Port Angeles, Washington
Gentlemen:
The thirty day. period since the completion and acceptance of the work done by
the Angeles and ~upply Vompany, ~ontractor, on City Street Project No.2, Eighth Street
Bridges Inner Sidewalk Handrailing, has elapsed and no incomplete or defective work has
been discovered for which the city makes claim.
I, therefore, recommend that the 15% retained, ($241.55) of the cost of the
'work bs paid to the contractor, the Angeles Gravel and ~upply Company.

It was moved ,by Commissioner Masters that the foregoing Engineer's report be accepted
and the City Clerk be instructed to issue a warrant in the sum of ~24l.55 to the Angeles
Gravel and Supply Company. " Seconded by Commissioner Henson. On roll call all members
voted aye. The M~vor declared the motion carried.
Under the head of ~eading and Passage of Ordinances, the follbwing ordinanoe was read by
title alid placed 6n its'third~reading.
AN ORDINANCE amending Sections land 4 of Ordinance No. 874, being an prdinance providing
for the regulation, housing and operation of dry cleaning plants within the City limits"
of the City of Port Angeles, and providing for a license fee for the operation thereof,
and fixing penalties for the violation thereof.
It was moved by Commissioner Henson that the foregoing ordinance be placed on its final
reading and adopted. Seconded by Commissioner Masters. On roll call all members voted
aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
The Commission examined and allowed the following claims and ordered warrants drawn for
same:

~nder the head of Introduction of Ordinances the following ordinance was read in full
and placed on its first and second .readings._
AN ORDINM~CE, relating to the use of the public streets in the 0ity of Port Angeles,
Washington, by the blind and limiting the use of white canes to such persons; requiring
drivers of motor vehicles to stop while blind persons, using such canes as a means of
identification, cross the publiC streets, and providing penalties for violation hereof.

The Commission then adjourned to meet on Thursday, March 31, 1938,.at 10 A.M.
