~ The Commission met in regular session at 10:00 a.m. and was called to order by llayo'r Epperson. Roll Call
I sh.owed the following Officers present: Kayor Epperson, Commissioners Steele and Johnson, Attorney Wilson
I an.d Clerk Law.
The Minutes of the previous session were read and approved.

Under the head of Reading & Passage of Ordinances, the following passed third and final reading:

It was moved by Commissioner Steele that the foregoing two Ordinances be passed third and final reading
and adopted; seconded by Commissioner Johnson. All members voted "Aye"; motion carried.'
Under the head of Unfinished Business:
The proposed installaticn of a sodium light at First and Race Streets came before the Commission.
Light Superintendent Lean reported that the light had been ordered. It was moved by Commissioner Steele
that the light be installed when delivered; seconded by ,"ayor Epperson. All voted "Aye"; motion carried.

A letter signed by H. G. Horstman, Chairman of the City Plaming Council, was read before the Com-
mission recommending the closure of parking lot on East Front Street until guard rails had been installed'. II
After discussion, it was decided to contact the Parking Association and recommend safety measures be taken.
Fire Chief Wolverton appeared before the Commission regarding the County Airport and fire- protection, rec-
ommending that the Volunteer Firemen operate and have complete control of government airfield fire truck,
with no extra expense to the city.
Mr. Wolverton also inforred the Commission that the otate Highway Department requested pennission to
install an oil tank at Railroad Avenue between Oak & Laurel Streets to store oil from tank cars. The Com-
mission had no objections to installation of tank, but desired an understanding toot the City have use of
tank when not being used by Highway Department.
It was also recommended by the Chief that Fire Alarm Systems be routed away from high tension power lines.
It vras moved by /layor Epperson that the recommendations of the Fire Chief be approved; seconded by Com-
missioner, Steele. On Roll Call, all voted "Aye"; motion carried.
