Roll call showed the follomng offJ.cers present: Mayor Beetle, COllIllissioners Beam and Lind Attorney Conniff and Clerk Hawkins. ' The minutes of the previous session were read and approved. Under the head of Applications for Building pennits the following were granted: I Frank Skidmore, ~ddition to house, Lot 8, Block 39, townsite Thos. J. Cashman, Remodel Garage, Lot 20, Block 232, Townsite H. Hendrickson, Addition to Home, Lot 8, Block 5, Subel. of Sub. Lot 17 A. Casilio, Build Garage, Lot 9, Block 60, Lewis & Mastick' s Subel. J. W. Pike, Build House, Lot 5, Block 502, Townsite q ./ lSO.OO J 100 .00 1000.00 100.00 500.00 Under the head of Introduction of Resoluticns the following resolutions were introduced: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described property, having acquired the same by Treasurer's deed dated !April 21, 1959, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9595 of Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 145 of the Laws of 1929, page 365, to-wit: 'j . Lot Seven (7), Block Two Hundred Ninety-one (291), Townsite of Port j Angeles, Washington, and I WHEREAS, Ivor Smith has offered to purchase the above described real property from the City of Port r Angeles for the sum of $500.00, payable as follows: $50.00 as a down payment and $10.00 on or before the jlOth day of Ilay, 1941, and $10.00 on or before the 10th day of each and every month thereafter until paid in full; interest to be computed at the rate of 7% per annum on the balance due and paid with the monthly installments, and I WHEREAS, the City Commission has viewed the eaid property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair I value and is in excess of the amount paid by the said City for said property, plus all L.I.D. assessments, I including all interest and other charges against the same, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the said property at private sale to the said Iver Smith, for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to any other valid liens against the same; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed conveying said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the litty of Port JAngeles be, and he is hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of said City of Port Angeles be, and he :iis hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed, when the purchase price and all accrued interest thereon has been paid in full. It was moved by Comnissioner Beam that the foregoing resoluti on be approved and ~dopted. Seconded by Conmissioner Lind. On roll call all members voted aye. Lhe Mayor declared the motion carried. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described property, having acquired the same by Treasurer's Deed dated October I, 1940, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9595 of Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 145 of the Laws of 1929, page 365, to-wit: Lot Ten (10), Block TWo Hundred Four(204) , Townsite of Port Angeles, Wa shington, and WHEREAS, Donald J. Smith has offered to purchase the above described real property from the City of Port Angeles for the sum of $225.00, payable as follows: $25.00 as a down payment and tlO.OO on or before the 10th day of May, 1941, and tiO.OO on or before the 10th day of each and every month thereafter until paid in full; interest to be computed at the rate of 7% per annum on the balanoe due and paid with the monthly installments, and WHEREAS, the City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair value and is in excess of the amount paid by the said City for said property, plus all L.I.E. assessments, including all intere st and other charges against the same; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the said property at private sale to the said Donald J. O. Denby has offered to purchase the above described real property from the City of Port Angeles, for the sum of $160.00, and \ WHEREAS, The City CoImllission of Port .Angeles has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair value and is in excesS of the amount paid by the City for said property, plus all L.LD. assessments, iocluding interest and other charges against the sll1lle; I NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the said property at private sale to the said W.O. Smith's) Subd: of the Townsite of Port Angeles, on the East by the ) NOTICE OF HEARING ON PETITION TO VACATE East line of said Block 55, Norman R. Smith's Subd., Ex- ) tended, and on the North and West by Victoria Street. ) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN That on March ll, 1941, a petition was filed with the City Clerk of the City of Port Angeles, signed by Ralph Smythe and others, as pwners of the abutting property, requesting the vaca- tion by the City Comnission of the following described portion of Caroline Street in the City of Port Angel es, to-wit: That portion of Caroline Street bounded on the South by BloCk 35 of Norman 'R. Smith's Subdivision of the Townsite of Port Angeles, on the East by the East line of said Block 55, Norman R. Smith's Subdivision, extended, and on the North and West by Victoria Street. The said petition 1IllS signed by all the property owners abutting on the portion of said street so to be vacated. YOU .ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED, that WedneSday, the 9th day of April, 1941, at the meeting place of the City Commission in the Fire Department Building in the city of Port Angeles, at 10 o'clock A.M. of said day at the regular meeting of said Commission, has been fixed as the time and place for the hearing on said petition to vacate. All persons having objections to the vacation of the said portion of Caroline Street are hereby notified to be ,present at said time and place and make or file their objections. DODGE, being first duly sworn, deposes and says: That he is of full age, a resident of Port Angeles, Clallam County, State of Washington, and a citizen of the United States and of the State of Washington; That on the 14th day of March, 1941, he posted four true and ccmplete copies of the original notice of hearing on petition to vacate that portion of Caroline Street described in the notice of hearing hereto attached; One copy was posted at the front door of the Court House in Clallameounty, Washington; one at the front door of the City Building at 140 West Front Street, Port Angeles; one on the bulletin board at the Port Angeles Evening News; also one at a conspicuous place on Caroline Street just West of Eunice Street in Port Angeles, Washington, a portion cf which is sought to be vacated in the petition in the above entitled matter. After due consideration it was moved by Mayor Beetle that, that portion of Caroline Street bounded on the South by Block 35 of Norman R. Smith's Subdivision of the 'ownsite of Port Angeles, on the East by the East Oy the Kast line of said Block 55 of Norman It. Smith 's Subdivision, extended, and on the North and West by Victoria Street, as described in the foregoing Noti.ce of Hearing on Resolution to :Vacate, be vacated, and the City Attorney be instructed to bring in an Ordinance vacating S8me. Motion seconded by Commissioner Beam. On roll call all members voted aye.
