I Under the head of New Business: and ordered filed, il A letter from the Park Board recoll'mending that the City acquire the Federal Hospital Reserve for Park purposes was also read and filed. A l~tter by Chas. N. l1ebster regarding the same was also read and Mayor Epperson suggested the Commission give due consideration and study until next session. It was moved ~, Commissioner Steele that the Commission go on record as attempting to get the Federal Government to deed to the City the hospital Reserve for Park purposes; seconded by Commissioner Johnson. All voted "Aye". !!.otion carried. The l:ayor also agreed to communicate y,'ith Congressman Jackson to get help through legis- la tion. , a letter by Fred G. Beale regardip.g recreation program was read, approved The report of Police JUdge Taylor for the month of (':arch, 1946, was approved and ordered filed. L1rs. Ii, E.Clevenger requested the COllul1ission to clean off brush and bulldoze lots on West 4th Street between It and N Streets for fire prevention. The ],;ayor informed that an investigation would be made. Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions, the following were introduced: RESOLUTION WHEI{EAS, the County of ClaHam, !. with approximately two thousand per cubic yard; and i I through its Commissioners, have offered to supply the City of Port Angeles I yards of crushed gravel, 3/4 inch to minus, at a price of Seventy-five Cents I I YiHEHEASJ the City is in need of said material and the price is fair and reasonable; now I, THEREFCRE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Port Angeles that the offer of Clallam ,I County be accepted and the City purchase said crushed gravel from the County at the stipulated price and according to the terms of Resolution No. 'oR-51 of the Board of ClaJ~am County COMmissioners. RES 0 L UTI 0 N II WHEREAS, on the 18th day of July, 1945, the City Gommission passed a Resolution limiting the number of licenses in the City of Port Angeles for the sale or consumption of beer and wine; and I' WHER}1~SJ the City COImnission considers it unfair to linn.t the number of licenses to be issued to stores 'I for the sale of beer or wine to be taken out; now T.~REFOF~, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Port Angeles that the State Liquor Control Board of the State of Washingtcn be requested to approve applications for not more than fifteen taverns in the City, not more than twel va restaurant licenses, and an unlimited number of store licenses, II It was moved by Cor.nnissionar Johnson tha t the foregoing Resolutions be approved and adopted; Commissioner Steele; all voted HAye"..
