The Commission met in reaular session at 10 A.M. in the office of the Commissioner of
Streets and Vias called t~ order by Commissioner of t'inance Henson, Acting Mayor. Roll
Roll call showed the following officers present: Commissioners Henson and Masters.
J Attorney Conniff and Clerk Hawkins.
The minutesof the previous session were read and approved.
Under the head of Applications for Building Permits and Licenses the following were
granted:
Port Angeles Motors, Hemodel Grease Rack, Lots 14 & 15, Blk. 14, Townsite
R. Sorenson, Addition to Store, st Lot 10, Blk. 269, T9wnsite
Log Cabin' Tavern, 2 Card !ables
Pershing Hotel, 16 Hooms

Under the head of Reading and Passage of Ordinances. the following ordinance was read
by title and placed on its third reading:
AN ORDINANCE stating facts constituting an emergency, re~uiring expenditures which
could not reasonably have been foreseen at the time of making the budget; declaring an
emergency and providing for the issuance of emergency warrants.
It was moved by Commissioner Masters that the fore~oing ordinance be placed on its final
reading and adopted. Seconded by Commissioner Henson. The ~cting Mayor declared the
motion carried.
Under the head of Introduction of Kesolutions the following rosolution was introduced:
RESOLUTION
WHEHEAS, at the regular meeting of the State Commission on Eq~ipment of the State of
Washington, held on the 28th day of March, 1938, the following order was passed which
governs the authorization of privately owned vehicles used by municipal corporations
as emergency vehicles:
"By authority vested in the .;tate Commission on Eq,uipment under Section 132,
Chapter 189, Lws of 1937, any person, firm, corporation or municipal corporation
desiring to have their privately owned vehicle registered as an authorized vehicle,
shall make application for such classifioation.
"In the case of Municipal corporations or counties this applicati on, requesting
such authorization, shall be acoompanied by resolution of the governing body for
whom the vehicle is used."
AND VffiEREAS, it is the desire of tho ~ity of Port Angeles, a municipal corporation,
that the vehicles described in the attached applications be authorized for use as
emergency vehicles:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE If RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES: That
it is the desire of said city that the motor cars privately owned by the members of'the
police force of the said city be registered with the State C~mmission on Equipment and
that said Commission authorize the use of, said vehicle by t.his City as emergency
vehicles.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the applications of the owners of such motor cars be
attached to this resolution and forwarded to the 6tate Commission on Equipment.
It was moved by Commissioner Henson that the foregoing resolution be adopted. Seconded
by Commissioner Masters. On roll call all membErs voted aye. The ~cting Mayor declared
the motion carried.
The Commission examined and allowed the following claims and ordered warrants drawn for
same:
