(10.100 The Commission met in regular session at 10:00 a.m. and was called to order by Mayor Beetle. Roll call showed the follewing officers present: Mayor Beetle, Collllllissioners Beam and Lind Attorney COMiff and Clerk Hawkins. ' The minutes of the previous session were read and approved. Under the> head of Applications for fuilding r ermits the following were granted: George Mangano, Construct House, Lot 20, Block 371, Townsite Geo. S. Bowers, Construct Dwelling and Garage1 Suburban Lot 81, Townsite R. Marsura, fuild Garage, Lot 11, Block 318, Townsite Frank C. Parkes, ~onstruct Garage, Lot 5, Block 175, Townsite 1700.00 500 .00 60.00 100.00 J. J. Tower having transferred his business, The Rayonier Cafe, to kussel Heather, requested in writing. that his.restaurant license No. 4620 be transferred to the said Russell Heather. There being no objections I the Collllllission instructed the City Clerk to make the said transfer as requested. Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the follewing resolutions were introduced: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, The City of Port .oongeles is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired the same by Treasurer's deed, dated April 11, 1940, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9393 of Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 143 of the Laws of 1929, page 365, to-wit: . Lots Two (2) and Three (3), Block Three (3) of Williams and Cramer's Subdivision of Suburban Lot 7 of the Original Tovmsite of Port "ngeles, Washington, and WHEREAS, C. F. Neal has offered to purchase the above described real property from the City of Port Angeles for the sum of $400.00, payable as follows: $10.00 as a down payment and $10.00 on or before the 10th day of May, 1940, and $10.00 on or before the 10th day of each and every month thereafter until paid in full. Interest to be computed at the rate of 7% per annum on the balance due and paid with the monthly installment, and WHEREAS, The City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is:fliir value and is in excess of the amount paid by the vitf for said property, plus all L.I.D. assessments, I including interest and othe r charges agains t the same, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the said property at private sale to the said C. F. Neal for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to any other valid liens against the same; that the City Attorney be instructed, to 'prepare a quit claim deed con- veying said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the City of Port iMgeles be and he is hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of the City of Port Angeles be and he is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed, when the purchase price and all accrued interest thereon has been paid in full. 1 It was moved by Commissioner Beam that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. ,Seconded by , Commissioner Lind. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, The City of Port .9lngeles is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired the same by Treasurer's deed, dated April 11, 1940, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9393 of Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 143 of the Laws of 1929, page 365, to-wit: Lot Nine, (9), Block Two Hundred Ninety-two (292) of the Townsite of Port Angeles, Clallam County, Weshington, and WHEREAS, C. L. Johnson has offered to purchase the above described real property fromthe City of Port Angeles for the sum of $300.00, and Commission WHEREAS, The City! of Port ~ngeles has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair value and is in excess of the amount paid by the City for said property, plus all L.I.D. assessments, including interest and other charges against the same, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the said offer be accepted and that 'the City of Port Angeles sell the said property at private sale to the said C. L. Johnson for the swn hereinabove set forth, subject to any other valid liens against the same; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed conveying said property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the City of Port Angeles be and he is hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of the City of Port Angeles be and he is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed. It was moved by Commissioner Beam that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by Commissioner Lind. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried. Under the head of Introduction of Ordinances the follewing ordinance was introduced, read in full and placed OIl its first and second readings: AN ORDINANCE changing the name of that street in the City of Port Angeles, Clallam County, Washington, heretofore known as "Boulevard" to thE name of "Lauridsen Boulevard". Under the head of New Business: The matter of the purchase of a new service truck for the Water Department as provided for in the 1940 Budget came up for consideration. Bids filed with the City Clerk being as follows: Walkling Motor Co.
