1 The Commission met in regular session at 10 A.I;. a.nd was called'to order by Mayor Davis. Roll call
showed the following officers present: Wayor D~vis, Co~~issioners Henson and Masters, Attorney Conniff

The ~inutes of the previous session were read and approved.

PROVIDING FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF LINCOLN STREET
FROM THE SOUTH MARGIN OF THIRD STREET TC Till: NORTH
1~RGIN OF EIGHTH STREET.

RESO~VED, That the City of Port Angeles pave the sides of Lincoln Street between the existing concrete
pavement and curbs, from the South margin of Third Street to the North margin of Eighth Street, with a
Bituminous Surface Treatment, "Plant Mix", Type -- CIE.sS F, also constructing concrete curbs and gutters,
according to the Standard Specifications of the State of Washington, Department of Highways, for Secondary
Highways and approved by the United States Bureau of Public Roads.
BE IT FUR1'IlER RESOLVED, The cost of said improvement be paid out of the City Street F'und as provided for
in Chapter 187 of the Lavrs of 19B9 and out of any other fund' or funds that may be available for that
purpose.
It was moved by Comrr~ssioner Henson that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted.
Seconded by Comr.1issioner IJasters. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion
carried.
RESOLUTION
WHEIlEAS, The City of Port Angeles is t"e mvner of the following described real property, having acquired
the same by Treasurer's deed, dated April 19, 1959, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 959B
of Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 14B of the Laws of 1929, page 365, to-vnt.
Lots Five (5) and Six (6), Block One Hundred Eighty (180), Tovmsite of Port
Angeles, Washington, and

WHEREAS, Emerson G. Lawrence has offered to purchase the above described real property from the 'C ity of
Port Angeles for the sum of $300.00, payable as folloYls, $150.00 as down payment and the balance of
$150.00 payable $25.00 on or before the 10th day of May, 19B9, and $25.00 on or before the 10th day of
each and every month thereafter until paid in full,. Interest on the balance due to be computed ahd paid
monthl;,- ,t the rate of 7% per annum, and

NOW, THER=FORE, HE IT RESOLVED that the said offer)e accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the
said property at private sale to the said Emerson 6r, Lawrence fcr tho sum hereinabove set forth, subject
to any other valid liens against the same; that the City ,Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim
deed conveying said property to the purchaser, aDd that the City Clerk of the City of Port Angeles be and
he is hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the J!ayor of the City of Port Jongelo s
be and he is herehy instructed to countersign said quit claim deed, when the purchase price and all
accrued interest thereon has been paid in full.
It was moved by Commissioner Henson that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by
Commissioner !Casters. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
Under the head of New Business,-
The City Clerk was instructed to issue a call for bids to furnish 6000 yards of gravel to be used in the
manufacture of material aggregate forLiGht Bi tUll'inous $urface Treatment and 1000 yds. of gravel to be
used for Hon-Skid Seal Treatment. Bids to be received at the office of the City Clerk until May B, 1939,
at 10 A.M. and not later.

T"e City Clerk was also instructed to issue a call for bids for the purchase of 1 Line Construction and
Maintenance Truck for the City Light Departrr,ent use. Bids to be received at the office of the City
Clerk until May B, 19B9, at 10 A.r'. and not later. The City Commission reserves the right to reject any
and all bids.
Under the head of Introduction of Ordinances the followirig ordinance was read in full and placed on its
first and second readings.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on March 22, 1959, a Resolution was unanimously adopted by the City Commission I
of the City of Port Angeles, Washington, to vacate the following street and alley in the City of Port Ange-
leB"Clallam Vounty, Washington} to-wit:
Third Street between the east houndary line of Race Street and the west bounda~J
line of Washington Street, and the alley in Block Three (5) of Doyle's Subdivision
of Suburban Lot Twenty (20), of the Townsite of Port Angel es, Clallam County,
Washington, said alley being located in the block bounded by Third Street on the
North', Washington Street on the east, Fourth Street on the south, and Race on the
west.
The City of Port Angeles is the owner of all of the property abutting on said street and alley sought to
be vaoated.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED, that Wednesday, the 19th day of April, 1959, at the hour of ten o'clock A.M. .
of said aay, at the City COllll1ri.ssioners' Room of the Fire Department building in Port Angeles, Washington,
at the re~Jlar meeting of said Commission on said day, has been fixed as the time and place for the
hearing on said Resolution to Vacate.
All persons having objections to the vacation of said street and alley are hereby notified to be present
at said time and place and make or file their objections.

plete copies of the original Notice of Hearing on Resolution to Vacate the above described street and
.alley: One at the County Court House, one at the front door of the Port Angeles Evening News, one at the
City Hall on the corner of Front and Oak Streets, one in a conspicuous place on Third Street between
Race and Washington Streets, and one in a conspicuous plaoe on the alley in the block bounded by Race,
Third, Washington &~d Fourth Streets, all in the City of Port Angeles, Clallam County, Washington.

The City Clerk reported that no
objections had been made or filed.
After due'consideration it was moved by Commissioner Masters that Third Street between the east boundary
line of Race Street and the west boundary line of Washi~gton Street and the alley in Block Three (5) of
Doyle's Subdivision of Suburban Lot Twenty (20) of the Townsite of Port Angeles, as desoribed in the
foregoing Notice of Hearing on Resolution to Vacate, be vacated, and the City ~ttorney be instructed to
bring in an ordinance vacating same. Motion seconded by Corrnnissioner Henson. On roll call all members
voted aye. The Mayor declared themotion carried.
