'The City Com:nission met in regular session at 10,00 A.M., and was called to order by Mayor Feeley. Officers
present were' !layor Feeley, ComlIlissioners Robinson and Taylor, Attorney Trumbull and Clerk Law.
Minutes of the previous session were read and approved.
Under the head of applipations for building permits, the following were granted,

Under the head of unfinished business, Attorney Reynolds spake regarding the foreclosure proceedings of
Contesti versus Rex Oaks. Mr. Reynolds informed that the court has given order that taxi license includes
cabs and stands. The judgment having not yet been signed, the Attorney requested that the Commission post-
pone decision an issuing license to Rex's Radio Cabs and crediting amount paid until the next session.
liThe request was granted and postponement permitted.
'T. T. Aldwell and two resort owners appeared regarding hanging banners across streets and billboard an city
owned property to advertise the Peninsula, which would benefit resort owners and ci:t;izens of the City alike. i
Mayor Feeley suggested tha t the resort owners submit a specific proposal which must comply wi th State
regulations. Commissioner Taylor agreed to contact State Engineers and resort owners regarding the same.
The Commission discussed a road building and logging agreement between the City and George Drake entered
into as of August 20, 1947, which has never been signed by Mr. Lrake. According to the agreement, Mr. Drake
awes $406.00 to date, for logs taken from City property. Commissioner Taylor recommended that the I
Commission allow claims of $2,025.12 and $480.00 for bulldozer service during the pipeline emergency, that
claim for $770.00 for bulldozer service be held as guarantee for logs removed, and that claim of 1;509.00
for work not authorized should not be paid. When questioned. regarding legality of paying claims for repair
of. pipeline emergency, the City Attorney advised that claims approved by the Commission could be paid
without emergency appropriation.
IUrrler the head of new lllsiness, Mr. Hill informed that certain streets are very dusty preventing painting
'opera tions. Commissioner Taylor acknowledged a serious situation, informing that the City plans to lay the
dust with liquor. That permanent work will be according to condition of streets, water mains, etc., and
that action will start in the near future.
Walter Flinn of 1922 West 7th Street informed the Commission that lots in Evans Subdivision are 46t' instead
of 50' regulation. The Engineer was instr"cted to investigate and contact Mr. f"linn.
A petition requesting a street light at the 1400 block on East Fourth Street and a larger light at First
and Ennis Streets was referred to Supt. McLean.
A letter and resolution by Sequim Prairie Grange No. 1108 and Clallam County Pomona Grange was read before
the Commission, requesting that the City reject adoption of daylight saving time. It was regularly moved
and seconded that the correspondence be filed.
Recommendations by the City Planning Commission were read 8S follows: that the Planning Commission
recommend against use of the City Building an Lincoln Street by the Sanitation Department for storage of
vehicular" equipment. That the City Commission instruct the City Engineer to contact the Port Commission

"complete survey of the problem existing at Fifth and Lincoln. Streets in Block 169, the condition of the,
bulkhead on Lincoln Street and width of Fifth Street, including conditions which may effect public health
and safety. The Commission ordered recommendations filed.
