It was moved b.r Commissioner Taylor that the Commission 'approve the application without -objections. Seconded by Commissioner Robinson. All voted A.ve. Motion 'carri ed. I .Commissionel" Taylor l"eported that test piling driven at the police station site shows a l"equired length of 28' instead of the estimated 16' and that Architect Field has oroered the same. 1 ,undel".the head of new business, Gilbert Hal"per and Vera McDonald, 10callllOrticians, appeal"ed to protest .recommendation by the Park Board concerning welfare bUl"ials in Ocean View Cemetery. The Board recommended 'that price of lots and budals be the same, whether welfare or otherwise. The morticians infomed that J .8mount pl"ovided b.r welfare does not cover cost (!If burial and they should not be required to operate below cost. rhe ma'tter was referred to the Cemnissioner of Public Works. I .A petition signed by fifty-six property ownere was filed with the CODlllission, requesting th~t a local Impl"ovement District be established for installation of sewers from 4th street to 9th street, between D .stl"eet and N street. The petition was l"eferred to the Engineel"'s Department for investigation and l"eport at a later date. I The Richfield Oil Company l"equested in writing, pel"mission to install oil pipe lines connecting their plant lnth barge unloading facilities at the Port Dock pieI'. Mr. TayloI' then moved ,that call for bids be published fOl" the construction of timbel" and plank stail"Way, bids to be opened May 5. I .Iotion seconded b.r Commissioner Robinson. Mayor Feeley voted opposed. Motion carried. I !Under the head of l"eading and passage of vrdinancee, the follewing were placed on thiro am final readings: l ORDm ANCE NO. 1281 AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Angeles providing for the bOl"rowing of $67,500.00 upon the general credit of said City, the issuance of Genel"al Obligation Bonds in the amount of $67,500.00 in payment of such loan, i'ixing the maturities of and providing for the sale of., such bonds, ani providing for tax levies for the i-etirement of such bonds, finding the assessed valuation""Q'f..t.he City of Port Angeles and declaring an 'emergency. ~t was moved by Commissioner Robinson that the fOl"egoing Ordinance be passed third and final l"eading and idopted.
