Roll call showed the foilawing officers present: Mayor Davis, Com~ssioners Henson and Uasters, Acting Attorney Taylor. and Clerk Hawkins. The minutes of the previous session were read and approved. Under the head of Applications for Licenses the Club Billiards was granted a license for 1 amusement game for the bahnce of the year ending June 30, 1939, $6.00 Under the head of Reading and Passage 0 f Ordinances the following ordina.nce was rea.d ~y title and placed on its third reading and adopted. AN ORDINANCE vacating Third Street between the east boundary line of Race Street and the west boundary line of WashL gton Street, and the aEey in Block Three (5) 0: Doyle's Subdivision of Suburb.m Lot Twenty (20), ~f the Townsite of Port Angeles, Clallam County, Washington, said alley being located in the block bounded by Third Street on the North, Washington Street on the east, Fourth Street. on t!1.e south a nd REce Street on the west. It was.moved bJ Commissioner Masters that the foregoing orji.nance be placed on its final reading and adopte? Seconded by Commissioner Henson. On roll call all members voted aye. The !.'ayor declarod the mot.ion carried. Under the head of Int~oc.uction of R<:2clutions the following resol'.ltions were iEtrcduced: RESOLUTION WHERE/;~, The City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real property, having acquired the sal)le by Treasurer's ::leed, dated lipril le, 1939, under and by virtue of t!1.e authority' of Section 9593 of Remingcon's Re,j:.'ed Stacut.es, Chapter 143 of the Laws of 1929, paGe 365, to-wit.: lot Six (6), Block :Wo Hundred Nin9+'J'-ono (291), of the Townsite of Port Angeles, Washington, and 1\'P.EREf.S, C. W. AleY.Bnder h::e offered to puroh'.ce t.he above described real propert.y from the City of Port Angeles, for the Slli~ of $500.00, and WHEREAS, T;18 City Commission has vicwed the said property and is of the opinio" tr.at- the offer is fair value &~d is in excess of the amount paid by the City for said property, plus all L.I.D. assessments, including interest and other charges against the sarr,e. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED Ttat the said offer be accepted and that the City of Port Angeles sell the said property at private sale to the saia. C. ". Alexander for the sum hereinabove set forth, subject to any other v~lid liens aGainst the same; that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a quit claim deed conveyiDb saiG property to the purchaser, and that the City Clerk of the City of Port Angeles be and he is hereby inGtructed to cxecut-o said quit claim deed, and that the Mayor of the City of Port Angeles be and he is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed. It was moved by vommissioner ~~sters that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by Commissioner Henson. On r611 call all r:;9mbers voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried. RESOLUTION TO LEASE PROPERTY WHEREAS, The City of Port Angeles is the owner of the fullowine described real ~roperty in the City of Port Angeles , to-wit: The north 190 feet of l,ot 1, Block 1, Tidelands west of Laurel Street, Port li.ngeles, Clallam County, Washi.('eton; and! the nortt 190 feet 0: the cast one-half of Lot 2, Block 1, Tidelands vrest of Laurel Street, in the City of Port Jngeles, Clallan County, Washington; which said property has been acquired by the said City by virtue of foreclosure of delinquent Local Improvement District assessments under '-hapter 205 of the Session Lavrs of 1927; and . WHEHEAS, Claude Carlson has offered to lease the above described property on a month to month basis at e rent of ~5.00 por month payable in advance on the 1st day of each and every month beginning vath the 1st day of May, 1959; said lease to be subject to t.ermination by either party at the end of any month ane: all expenses for :r.aintenance in connection with said property to be borne by the said Claude Carlson, and said lease to further provide that the lessee willnot allow any automobiles or other vehicles to operate over and acroes the waste ditch now running through said property, ,vith out the express conseLt of the lesser first obtained; and Vt1JEREAS, the City Commission has viewed said property and finds the offer is a fair rent'~ for said prope rty; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the offer to rent said property be accepted; that the acting City Attorney be instructed to prepare a proper lease and that the City Treasurer be authorized to execute the same on behalf of the Uity of Port Aneeles. It was moved by Comnussioner Henson that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by Corrrnissioner Masters. On roll call all. members voted aye.
