Proceedings of the City Commission of the City of Port Angeles, Washington

The Commission met in regular session at 10 A.M. and was called to order by Mayor Beetle. Roll call
showed the following officers present: ~or Beetle, Commissioners ~eamand Lind, Acting Attorney Taylor
and Clerk Hawkins.
the minutes of the previous session were read and approved.
Under the head of lllpplications for Building Permits and Licenses the following were granted:
Arthur Aggergaard, Buildtiarage, Lot 10, Block 5, Subd. of Sub. Lot 17
E. E. Rittenhouse, Build Garage, Lot 2, Block 100, TOMlSite
Tenny's Ice Cream, Fountain Lunch

Under the head of New Business:
It appearing that the building under construction at the corner of 7th & Peabody Streets would be completed
, and be ready for use by the Water Department on or before the 51st day of May, 19U. It was therefore
I moved by CollIIllissioner Lind that the City Clerk be and he ishereby instructed to notifY Joe Paris, the owner I
i of the building at 116 w. 8th street, on Lots 5 and 4, Block 267, now occupied by the Water Department, ,
that the Water Department rill have no further need of the said building after May 51, 1941, and will I
vacate said building on or before that date. Seconded by CollIIllissioner Beam. On roll call all members
voted aye. 'rhe Mayor declared the motion carried.
Under the head of Reading and Passage of vrdinances the following ordinance passes its third reading and
was adopted:
AN ORDINANCE for the protection of public health in the City of Port Angeles; regulating the business of
slaughtering livestock, and the preparation, sale and handling of msat and meat products intended for
human consumption; providing for the inspection of same, and providing a penalty for the violation thereof.
It was moved by Mayor Beetle that the foregoing ordinance be placed on its final reading and adopted.
Seconded by Commissioner Lind. On rollcall all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
Under the head of Introduction of Resolutions the following resolution was introduced:
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The City of Port Angeles is the owner of the following described real property, ha\~ng acquired
the same by Treasurer's Deed, dated April 29, 1941, under and by virtue of the authority of Section 9595
of Remington's Revised Statutes, Chapter 145 of the Laws of 1929, page 565, to-wit:
Lot Thirteen (13), Block Three Hundred Six (506), of the 'townsite of Port Angeles,
Clallam County, Washington, and
WHEREAS, William Ghremes and Bertha Ghrames, husband and wife, have offered to purchase the above described I
real property from the City of Port Angeles for the sum of ,i40.00, and
WHEREAS, The City Commission has viewed the said property and is of the opinion that the offer is fair
value and at this time it is the best interest of the City that it should be accepted and the sale made.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the said offer be accepted ana that the City of Port Jl.ngeles sell the
, said property at private sale to the said William Ghrames and Bertha Ghramas, husband and .rife, for the
sum hereinabove set forth, subject to any other valid liens against the same; that the City Attorney be
instructed to prepare a quit claim deed conveying said property to the purchasers, and that the City Clerk
of the City of "ort Angeles be and he is hereby instructed to execute said quit claim deed, and that the
Mayor of the City of Port Angeles be and he is hereby instructed to countersign said quit claim deed when
the purchase price and all accrued interest thereon has been paid in full.
It was moved by CollIIllissioner Beam that the foregoing resolution be approved and adopted. Seconded by
Commissioner Lind. On roll call all members voted aye. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
The Commission examined and allowed the following claims and ordered warrants drawn for same:
